V is for Victory

I'm icvictory. I choose icvictory because my name is Colette Victor. My first initial being C and last name being Victor, I've made a little play on words to the testimony in my life. I looked up the meaning of my given name, Colette. It is derivitive of Spain. The original name was Nicolette. Other derivitives are Nicole and the male form is Nicolas. The meaning is victorious. So my name is victor twice over. icvictory seemed ideal to the adversity I have overcome and still am ...

I live in Alaska and will be 50 my next birthday. I work as a bilingual tutor for the school district. I love my job. I was a missionary in Haiti from 1999 - 2001 and loved it. I married there and will be adopting a little girl soon that I've had a long relationship with. I never had my own children. I'm a Christian, which is very important to me. I'm black American and am from Texas. I stay pretty fit but tend to be anywhere from 15 - 25 lbs over weight. I lost 10 lbs over the summer and got into cycling. With the prices of gas going up it was incentive for me to park my car and bike everywhere. I plan to try to keep it up even through the snowy winters here.

Thank you IC for the comment on my blog. I think you will have a fun time with your blog. I never spoke with anyone from Alaska--how is the weather there? Have a great day! God Bless you and yours!

Welcome to the Better Sleep Challenge!

I read your recent post. I wondered this, how about if you take some time through the day to journal your thoughts and feelings, cares and concerns? There's a Journal section here on Spark - it's on the same page as the Calendar - I think it's under the first tab. It's completely private, no one will see it but you. It may take a week or so to notice much difference - doesn't hurt to try!
