Well, I decided to do it. I have begun my journey of cooking through the Quick & Healthy Recipes in one year. I have also simultaneously started exercising again and tracking calories, etc.

There are over 200 recipes in the book. So, I figure if I cook/prepare 4 recipes per week, I will be on my way to the goal. The other twist is that I am also cooking for my entire family of 4. The plan is to cook one day per week for all of my meals and then freeze some of it to use throughout the week.

After not exercising and eating right for a while, I am getting fit again. My goal is to decrease body fat and gain muscle.

My Goals:

My Program:
I am using some hybrid workout plans from various sources. My goal is to workout 6 days/week, doing cardio, strength training and abs each time. I am also eating low fat & high protein with one cheat meal per week.



Personal Information:
I'm from SoCal, married and have 3 kids. I like to cook, exercise and eat right. My hobbies are mixed martial arts (and used to include basketball in a past life) and watching movies. Yay! I found my other hobby!

    Have you looked at Renegade Health online? The have a "high raw" idea of going mostly raw.

    I also am helped a lot when I can afford my blood type diet, using D'Adamo's guidelines in his book.

    Thanks for the comment on my blog.
    The work on Saturday was steady and we kept up. About 4:15pm everybody was coming in to pick up since they knew we closed at 5pm. I got well over my desired 5000 steps per day, did 9000 just at work.
    The soup did taste good; took it for lunch at work yesterday. I do not need any more soup to freeze at this time, so I can figure out something else to cook... Too many recipes and not enough time...lol
    Staying asleep, yes, is an issue. Poor quality or lack of sleep affects energy, even my cooking and playing with the camera time sometimes takes too much work. Last night was a better night, so I look forward to getting some housework and/or sewing done for the week.
