It's time!

I've had it with being fat!
I am a 33 y.o. wife and mom of 3 awesome kids. I live in Reykjavik, Iceland, but used to live in the US. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teen. I lost 65 pounds in '00-'01 but have slowly gained it all back over the years, through pregnancies and general laziness. My father is a professional chef and I was basically raised in a kitchen! I have an obsession with cooking and baking, I love food and never met a cake/cookie/sweet I didn't like, ...

I have an obsession with cooking and baking, I love food and never met a cake/cookie/sweet I didn't like, so this is a battle for me!

I am trying to get myself back into shape after having my 3rd baby on Jan. 30th, '08, and I am so ready to adopt a healthy lifestyle for good. I want my kids to have a good role model in me, and I want to be able to lead an active lifestyle. I have now been on here since early January, and am still struggling. This has nothing to do with SparkPeople, I'm just having a hard time making the necessary changes. I just need to kick myself in the rear and get my booty in gear! I am hoping to be at my goal weight by my 34th birthday, which is May 12th, 2010. Slow and steady wins the race, plus my main goal is to get healthy, not a certain number on the scale. I have an idea of what I want to be, but if I'm happy with the way I look and feel at a higher number, I won't obsess about it!

My Goals:
1. Down to 232 lbs. by April 1st - Reward: L'Occitane almond shower oil
2. Down to 223 by May 1st - Reward: New purse
3. Down to 214 by June 1st - Reward: New outfit

My Program:
Basically I am going to the gym whenever I can find the time. I haven't been making it too often lately, since DH and I are juggling 3 jobs, 3 kids, and a house between the 2 of us, but this should be improving soon. DH is taking leave from his fulltime job starting next week, so hopefully I will then get more time to work out!

Other Information:
I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. I studied in the US but have now moved back to my native Iceland.

Hi! Sorry its been a while. I have been super busy and just kinda didnt have time to log on. I've only gained about 5 lbs back but I completely got off track and now Im trying to get my @$$ in high-gear!!! Anyway, hope things are good and sorry i kinda lost touch for a bit!!! ~Nicole~

you can do it we all hit periods where we are not energized and feel like not doing anything. I was like that for 2 whole months!! I didn't work out and ate horrible and gained back 12 pounds!! it was awful and it showed me a lesson to never do that again. You can do this make some motivation collages and put them on your wall where you can see them or get a new workout outfit that always helps!!

Haven't talked to you in awhile but if your few months were anything like mine...I feel terrible for you! I am recovering from pneumonia, sinus infections, and more! My girls have been sick with colds and the flu so it has been pretty hectic here too! Hang in there and I hope your all doing better:) emoticon
