Rob's journey to a healthy weight.

I have decided to be like an ocean going vessel.
No matter how slow I go, I must never stop. In the end, I will never halt my progress on this journey to a healthy weight.

I know I will have breaks, detours, diversions, both planned and unplanned. But what will make the most difference this time is that I will never stop.

Having gained and lost weight so many times.
I finally realised my problem. Once I got to goal, I stopped applying my good and ...
I have decided to be like an ocean going vessel.
No matter how slow I go, I must never stop. In the end, I will never halt my progress on this journey to a healthy weight.

I know I will have breaks, detours, diversions, both planned and unplanned. But what will make the most difference this time is that I will never stop.

Having gained and lost weight so many times.
I finally realised my problem. Once I got to goal, I stopped applying my good and efficacious habits, and reverted back to old habits, then felt bad for doing so, and just gave up on sticking to my newly acquired habits altogether.

Today, my mantra is Commitment. Finally after all this time, fully grasp the concept, that, whilst motivation may change from day to day, even hour by hour sometimes, My Commitment to stay the course must never waver. because therein lies success.

My Goals:
To commit to losing weight, being fitter and halting my slow but sure march to a diminished existence due to over eating .

My strategy is through consistent,mindful, calorie control, and increased physical activity. As the weight gets less and less I will review my goals and tweak it as needed.

My Program:
Give an overview of what you are doing to meet your goals.

I am counting calories and tracking my food intake.
I also incorporate exercise into my lifestyle change.
As I get fitter I will add more challenging exercises. The goal is to be really fit up to the point of being an elite athlete, one step at a time.

And it's easy if you follow these guidelines...
*Drink your emoticon
*Eat your five servings emoticon
*Track your food and fitness emoticon
*Get in an extra 10 minutes of dancing emoticon
*Get plenty of emoticon
*Believe that you are worth it emoticon
* Keep walking emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You are not alone on this journey. We do not stand in front or behind but beside each other. You can do this. Don't get down if you make a mistake but get back up and do it again and again until you get it right. It will happen. Maybe not today or even tomorrow but you will do it if you believe in yourself. Find that strength deep inside and bring it out. Don't jump into a decision to quit and then regret it. Even a small victory is a step ahead. I believe in you and now it is time for all of us to believe in ourselves. Let's make this the month we really FLY!

Welcome to the 12-Week Walk. I'm not able to do much walking riht now, but will pop into the threads now and then. Just where do you live? I saw the amazing castle in your pix gallery, Ireland, I think it was.

Hi Rob. It's a very diverse group from all over the world! Some can't walk 100 steps and some are doing 5 and 10K Walks. Introduce yourself and look over the options. You'll probably want to sign on with the Intermediate team. Half of us are in Week 3 and you and the other half will be in Week 1. We've doubled in size over the weekend!
I'll give you a brief rundown. Sassy aka JACKSGRAN and MADMIRANDA are from London. I should get a world map so I can see how far you live from them. Jackie lives in Italy. Judy aka HARROWJET lives in Nova Scotia. Eliz aka NOWYOUDIDIT lives in Minnesota. Her personal blog is at the bottom of her spark page and she's a saint! Stacy aka MADEIT3 is a great inspiration and motivation and she is from rural Kansas. Rita and Linda live about 240 miles apart in Montana.
We want to hear all about what you see and hear where you walk in your part of the world and we're waiting for autumn leave updates and first snowflake updates. Hope you'll join in the geography lesson! There are 23 new members since Saturday so I can't fill you in much more than that until they start posting. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do for you! Glad to have you along on this journey!
