I Am Skinny 125 LBs

Hello Everyone,

I am going to try to describe my journey as positively as possible. My user name may sound a little narcasistic, but it is all in the goals of tricking my brain to believe that I am skinny. I had my first struggles with weight after I became ill. During that period of time, I was placed on some serious medication that caused me to gain over 60 Lbs in 2 months time. Hello Everyone,

I am going to try to describe my journey as positively as possible. My user name may sound a little narcasistic, but it is all in the goals of tricking my brain to believe that I am skinny. I had my first struggles with weight after I became ill. During that period of time, I was placed on some serious medication that caused me to gain over 60 Lbs in 2 months time. I was bed ridden, and I lost a lot of my self esteem. I grew up being able to eat whatever I had wanted, as my metabolism would burn anything off. I had a lot of bad habits with food, and I had always been able to get away with eating this way as I would never gain anything. After my body changed, I became very depressed at the way I looked. I continued these bad eating habits and I gained another 40lbs this way. I was in constant denial of my weight gain, and I always thought I could lose the weight if I really wanted to, thus justifying what I was doing. I am now trying to change all of these bad habits. Because of my weight gain and health issues, I now have some thyroid issues and infertility issues as well. I no longer want to excuse my lack of weight loss on my medical problems. I am in control of my destiny and I will lose weight. I am Skinny 125!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon ANY time is a great time to start...especially with Sparkpeople. Give yourself a big hug for making this positive choice for yourself. Take your time to explore all the resources available for you here. It can seem overwhelming because there are so many resources to choose from. Two to consider using are the Nutrition and Fitness Trackers. Also, check out Spark Teams under the COMMUNITY Tab. Do searches on your goals, interests, hobbies, whatever. Then join one, two or more Spark teams. You'll enjoy getting to know these folks and giving and getting lots of encouragement along the way. It's all good. Enjoy the journey!
