9/15/14: I was at my best when I visited SP several times a week to track, blog, or to just check-in for motivation.

The foundation of Eat to Live is still there, I just failed at keeping up with the plan.

I'm back because today I am at my highest weight ever and it's shameful. I've been around my current weight for almost 2 years and I've had enough.

2/21/12: I kind of drove myself crazy last Spring watching the scale. I'm over it now. If I'm eating right and working out on a regular basis, it will all fall in place.

I am still following Eat to Live, but not as strict as I should. The foundation is there and that's what matters the most to me right now. As for fitness, I'm training for a 10K in June using a Couch to 10K app on my iPhone. See the sidebar for more info about the app. Also, I've taken up yoga and am enjoying the challenge. Most of all I'm glad to have found a fitness routine that doesn't leave me feeling beat up and in recovery mode for several days at a time before I can workout again. I've learned taking off too many days between workouts contributed to my falling off track.

I choose not to be on Spark everyday, but I make an effort to log on a few times a week to see how everyone is doing and to share my interests or what's going on in my world. The community here is the most supporting and the best resource SP has to offer.

The tools on SparkPeople are amazing and I recommend them to anyone just getting started with weight loss or need to jump start a new program. Having said that, after years of being on SP while having moderate success and returning multiple times when it all falls apart, I now know that every day tracking does not work well for me in the long-term. In fact, I realized the pressure to track and record everything related to nutrition and fitness contributed to my burnout. It's a challenge to eat right daily and workout out on a regular basis, but the added task of tracking it all here to keep various streaks alive became too tedious to maintain. Kudos to anyone who can do it and do it consistently for more than a few months at a time. I AM ENVIOUS!

3/19/11: I started the Eat to Live plan by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Reading "Eat to Live" has changed my mind about what I thought was good food and nutrition. It was an education and wake-up call that I desperately needed to make a change in my life.

Hey Bre!! I'm still around! It's been along time since I've sparked though. I read your update on your page and I agree about being at my best when I visited and updated this site.

Such a coincidence that you reached out to me yesterday because I finally decided to cancel my gym membership on Sunday! It had been over a year since I was there...I know right?!! When I'm on, I'm on...but when I'm off...it's bad! I slowed down in the exercise...bad habits crept in and took over...you know...the vicious cycle and I gained my weight back. As of 9 weeks ago though, I've been back on my grind at home in my basement gym doing exercise videos and have been happy with it so far, which is why I finally decided to save my money and drop the gym membership. My new goal is to lose the weight AGAIN and hopefully next summer (will probably take that long) I want to hire a trainer for serious body building!! Not competition, but I want that physique. Running was my passion, but now I want to go this new route, I really enjoy it!! I still have the same email, let me know if you need it again. Hi Iambre,
I like your attitude; you're right, it is a lifestyle and we need to stop being obsessed with the scale and just make good choices everyday. When I started to view my weight loss journey that way, the stress level and my weight started to plummet. Now I'm not so worried about a number on the scale but my overall health and well being. As long as I keep practicing healthy eating habits and exercise the weight will come off and then I can go into maintenance mode.

Thank you Bre!! Yep, seeing these results is really motivating me to keep going!! I just keep telling myself that this year I will start maintanence mode.

(Sorry, I'm just responding to your message on my page 10 days late!!) I've been so busy with work that I haven't been "sparking" much lately. It's Monday morning and I made myself get on here and look around before I began work!
