how are you doing? I hope you are feeling great and mending great! I may need more surgery. I live in the country and come from a line a furniture movers so we have always done physical work and it stinks to not be able to do even half as much as before. Hopefully they find out what's going on. I have degenerative discs so my doctor says you have bad jeans I was thinking he was joking at my jeans I was wearing that day it took me a minute to get what he was talking about. That's what I get for asking him to talk to me in terms I could understand. LOL Hope you are doing well I see you have gone down in weight great job

Back surgery take a lot of time to recover from, so don't be hard on yourself or feel down about it. It will be well worth the wait. Do what you can to enjoy the time. I made a lot of phone calls and read a lot of books. I haven't had much time to read since so I'm glad that I did it when I could.

Welcome to sparkpeople and sorry to hear about your surgery. mine started with neck fusion and 2 years ago back surgery and less than a year later I was told I needed it again. So the last 2 years at Memorial day weekend I had surgery. I have plates, rods and screws. . I stop exercising when it hurts as before surgery I would keep going and you should totally listen to your doctor and pt person. Sounds like your doing great and you lost the nerve pain that is so awesome! Keep it up I wish you all the best emoticon

I read your comment about being stubborn and over doing it. I suffer from the same problem. Thankfully, I did well to listen to my body for the recovery time after surgery and I had help in the house to get some things done. But I even did some soul searching to try to figure out why I keep pushing myself to the limit and suffering from it later. I haven't really made huge changes and haven't found a better way to do things, but I have come to a place of acceptance. I don't want to make it too simplified as to that is just who I am, but partly yes, but a bigger part is that I really want to get the most out of life. I am going to be one of those souls that is going to be sliding in like a ball player into heaven's gates because of trying to get so much done.

Hang in there, try to take it easy, try to get some help to get some of those extra things done, and enjoy life to it's fullest!
