Fitness Minutes: 14,082

My Goals:

- To become more self-observant and be able to better plan my activities to reach my goals.
- To better articulate my goals.

- To learn how to adjust my diet to incorporate watching both carbs and, now, saturated fats.
- To find better perseverance.
- To get it off and learn how to keep it off!

My Program:
I track my food (500 calories less then my basal needs) watching calories, saturated fat, carbs, fiber and protein, and work to exercise more regularly to burn more calories, thereby lowering my weight. I am learning to incorporate more whole foods and healthy vegetables thanks to both The Suppers Program and the Whole Foods Wellness Club.

Personal Information:
Im a pretty well controlled Type II Diabetic with an insulin pump. I've lost 40 pounds previously on my own with diet and exercise, but it is tough on your own (from 178 lbs., I returned to 220 when my parents were nonstop sick for a year and a half and my mom died).

I know that the sense of community here and all of the positive reinforcement (Spark Points!) will help me more easily to reach my own goals. Im glad to be here and trying it again.

Other Information:
I love audiobooks and the wonderful hot tub at the gym.

    Hey Robin- Thanks for the mention. Working my butt off this time. So hard when I am working full time and commuting 2 - 3 hours a day. But trying to stick with it to get it all off before the holidays. Steering clear of all the goodies the patients bring in! That's what got me back into this mess last year! LOL! Neighbor offerred me a stationary bike months ago. Still waiting for hubby to help me get it out of her basement and over here! But stomping along any way I can and so far it's working. Slower than last time but coming off none the less and that's what counts!

    Thanks so much for the goodie! Hope you are well! Trying hard to get back into the Spark swing after being off for so long. The numbers on the scale have been creeping upwards for months now but the commute to and from Brooklyn every day leaves little time or motivation for the workout and healthy eating. Got back into the groove this week - and have the blisters on my feet to prove it! Hoping I can keep it up this time and see the great results I saw the first time. Thankfully this time I dont have as much to lose!
