Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I've been with SparkPeople for a while, but not active for almost 2 years.
It's time to push past my comfort zone, expand my boundaries, and break routines. I taken some big steps forward: I have been a non-smoker since late August and I made a job change in October, and I have stumbled backwards a few: eating more to help with my cigarette cravings and letting my new work schedule interfere with my exercise routines. I have a weight gain to deal with, but I am not giving up or giving in. It's a new year, so time to WORK on a new me.
To have the energy to LIVE, not just exist.
To go through an entire day with out saying or thinking the word "ouch".
It all adds up; never discount your efforts, because small efforts build big things. One word doesn't make a novel, but one word does begin a novel, and from that small beginning everything else follows. Even if it's just "The", write something on that blank page. --Laurell K. Hamilton
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." ~Aristotle
Basically, I will do SOMETHING other than just plan, and I am Working on CONSISTENCY.
TRACK TRACK TRACK. Be honest, and "if you bite it, then write it."
Hi, I'm Marni. I have a extensive family history of health issues that I really want to avoid, if at all possible. My Pop is on Medical Disability, and I help with managing his care. I need to take better care of myself, so I can give 100% when he needs me.
I work in a very large hospital, and every day I am confronted with the consequences of not taking care of yourself. The morbidly obese, diabetics, dialysis patients, patients with cardiac conditions, My unit sees them all. What has really shook me up is that many are the same age as me, or no more than 10 years older. I don't want to be them.

On the C25K, I think the reason I didn't like it is that the recovery process didn't go to well. My knee bothers me when I run. So, I have backed out of it. I did like the muscle build and the idea that I was getting a good cardio in. I have had soreness in my knee when walking as well but not like that. Its just sensitive that's all and I baby that knee because I know so many others with knee injuries have a hard time. Thank you for your input because it made me really think about it. I will still walk though. That worked for me before and I was losing weight but I slacked a little in August. So, I have to get back into the habit again. Hope youre doing great and thank you for your input and concern. Its nice.
