It’s time to push past my comfort zone, expand my boundaries, and break routines. I taken some big steps forward…I have been a non-smoker since late August and I made a job change in October; and I have stumbled backwards a few….eating more to help with my cigarette cravings and letting my new work schedule interfere with my exercise routines. I have a weight gain to deal with, but I am not giving up or giving in. It’s a new year, so time to WORK on a new me.

Personal Information:
Hi, I'm Marni
I am 41 years old and feel 61. My Pop is on Medical Disability, and I help with managing his care. I need to take better care of myself, so I can give 100% when he needs me.

Other Information:
I work in a very large hospital, and every day I am confronted with the consequences of not taking care of yourself. The morbidly obese, diabetics, dialysis patients, patients with cardiac conditions, My unit sees them all. What has really shook me up is that many are the same age as me, or no more than 10 years older. I don't want to be them

"How do you build up your bank account? By putting something in it everyday.
Your health account is no different. What I do today, I am wearing tomorrow.
If I put inferior foods in my body today, I'm going to be inferior tomorrow, it's that simple.

Thanks for the warning! Is there anything I can do to prepare for it? Allergy meds or?? I am already on antibiotics for upper respiratory/throat infection... however, I've missed Hawaii and happy to come back tonight!!!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. The GI diet is the Glycemic Index and NOT gastro. Intestinal, sorry. It is a great diet though and very healthy. The book, The G.I. Diet, by Rick Gallop is available at amazon and is wonderful if you are trying to cut out some carbs and fats.
