Hungry Haggis
I'm 34, live in Scotland with my husband and our 11 year old daughter. I'm in my third year of a Psychology degree (late bloomer), I'm currently menopausal thanks to a hysterectomy a couple of years ago (yes I realise that's too much information), I think I absorb food via osmosis and then store it in my hips for when it's needed... which it never is. I'm incurably exercise shy and my self confidence is in the toilet. I have the sense of humour of an 8-year-old-boy and I really look forward to ...

I'm incurably exercise shy and my self confidence is in the toilet. I have the sense of humour of an 8-year-old-boy and I really look forward to meeting some new people on here so that we can wax lyrical about lettuce. I talk a lot, but anything I say is done with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek... Which kind of makes me hard to understand.

My Goals:
I want to be fit and healthy. I want to look in the mirror and not panic that a fat stranger is in the house. I'd like to join a cardio class and not be the most out of shape person in the room. I want to run a 5k this year. COMPLETED JUNE 2011 I want to run a 10k this year. COMPLETED MAY 2011 I want to stay motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle so that my family benefit from healthy eating as much as me. I don't want this to be another fad that fizzles out the minute my stress levels rise.
My Program:
Follow a diet of 1,200 calories. Eat vegetables and/or fruit with every meal. Eat only wholemeal versions of carbohydrates. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day, cut out all caffeine and alcohol. Take vitamins and supplements to increase my health. Exercise for at least 30 minutes daily.
Personal Information:
My name's Heather and I have the most ridiculously perfect family on the planet. My husband and I have been together 17 years and he's still my knight in shining armour. Our 11 year old daughter is the perfect child. She's never misbehaved and is kind to a fault. My best friend is who I want to be when I grow up. I'm an exceptionally blessed human being.
