2012 is my year!
Hey Y'all! I'm just a 28 year old woman trying to change my life one day at a time. I've battled with weight mostly my entire life and am ready to end this war. For years, I've "tried" to lose weight. For me, this consisted of dieting for a month or so and losing a few pounds. I would get discouraged that I had just spend all this time "depriving" myself to only see a weight loss of a few pounds. I would give up, telling myself I am just destined to be overweight. Hey Y'all! I'm just a 28 year old woman trying to change my life one day at a time. I've battled with weight mostly my entire life and am ready to end this war. For years, I've "tried" to lose weight. For me, this consisted of dieting for a month or so and losing a few pounds. I would get discouraged that I had just spend all this time "depriving" myself to only see a weight loss of a few pounds. I would give up, telling myself I am just destined to be overweight. In 2010 though, my entire life was flipped upside down... On December 2nd, 2010, my Mom died suddenly at 47yo. For years, it was just me and my Mom. She was my best friend (even though we fought like cats and dogs sometimes). After the initial shock, anger, depression and grief, I began to take a look at my own life. My Mom was also overweight. Not obscenely so, but I believe it contributed to her death. I decided that I want to be around. I don't have kids yet, but my husband and I are hoping for them soon. I want to be around for him and for my future children. I want to see my grandchildren born like my Mom was never able to. It's time to take control of this situation! This go around, everything feels different. I'm working out on the regular and actually enjoying it! I found Zumba (what could possibly be more fun) and have started strength training with my husband at the gym! On the days that I am unable to Zumba or get to the gym, I take my dog Mattie for at least a mile long walk. It's good for her and it's great for me! Finding and preparing "different" healthy meals has also become such a fun activity for me! Sparkpeople has given me so many wonderful recipes for me to try and build on! I have completely revamped my fridge and pantry so that only healthy, nutritious items are at my fingertips. I think I'm finally on my way to a healthier, slimmer me! What an exciting journey to be on!

My Goals:
My goals are to run a 5k, look and feel good in a bathing suit, wear the jeans I wore on my first date with my husband, BE PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!
My Program:
I am tracking my food intake everyday and staying within my Spark ranges. I am aiming to be active everyday by doing Zumba at least 3 days/week and strength training at least 2 days/week. On the days I take off from "working out" I will take my dog for a walk, go for a walk on the beach, etc... Rewards-- 10lb -- haircut/style 20lb -- pedicure 30lb -- new jeans 40 lb -- new pair of shoes 50 lb -- new swimsuit 60 lb --massage 75 lb -- new wardrobe!
