Hello! My name is Giana and I love food. I have had a weight problem from the age of 15(when I discovered boys and got lazy). I have dieted away a lot of my life. In my adult life I have weighed as much as 220 and as little as 135. When I was at 135 I still thought I was fat. Man oh man I wish I was that fat again. I got married in April 2009 quit smoking a few months later and 20lbs snuck up on me. I have got to get it off. My parents are both overweight and on several medications. I don't want to end up that way.

I found SP in early February. I have recently started to take this more seriously. Tracking my food really helps. It's a pain sometimes trying to figure out the calories in restaurant food. I just don't go out to eat anymore without researching it first. (or I at least try not to)

I weigh 179 now. I am not real sure what my weight was in the beginning. My scales and I did not get along. I feel like I have lost 10lbs so far. I have bought a new scaled and weighed 183 on March 3, so I will start there and move forward. I would like to lose about 40 more. I will keep trying.

Update: February 16, 2012. My current weight is 157.9. It's been a slow process. Weeks go by and I don't do so well. For the past couple of months I have really been hard at it. Started just walking at lunch, then decided to dust off the old treadmill to see if it still worked. Yes, it does. Last 3 weeks been getting up early and getting on it 3-4 days a week for 35-40 min and started running a little bit. Bought a pair of New Balance running shoes and I am off. Hopefully I can meet my goal of 145 by 6/1/12. Slow and steady as she goes.

Update: August 2012
Well I have finally reached my goal and passed it. Current weight 142.3. Not to bad. It was a long trip with ups and downs along the way. It may not have went as fast as I would have liked but I just kept plugging away at it. My goal now is to tone up.

Lee Iacocca: You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.
