I'm turning 50! My goal, set in panic, frustration, and disappointment on my 49th birthday, was to lose 50 pounds in a year. That's not going to happen in a year, although I am almost half way there and headed in that direction. But something better has happened!
This has been one of the best years of my life, and I finally feel like I'm putting the pieces together - for weight loss, health, and life! The week of my 49th birthday I joined an amazing martial arts school with my daughter and this has been the key to reclaiming my life! I've lost 20 pounds since and gained a level of fitness I no longer thought was possible for myself at "my age". Hah! It's 99% in our minds, friends! BELIEVE.
My goals are to improve my health, to feel better, to move freely through life, and to set a good example for my young daughter.
I will track nutrition periodically to remain mindful. I eat for health instead of pleasure!
Martial arts class 3-4 days a week.
Strength train full body at least 2x per week.
Long walks with friends 2-3 days per week for added calorie burn and therapy. ;-)
I'm married with a 24 year old son in college and a 16 year old daughter. We're a homeschooling family, and I love our flexible lifestyle.
I'm a gamer. I've played almost every version of Zelda and Super Mario. And I'm always up for a Rock Band jam session! Recently discovered Just Dance - so much fun! I also play several pc and internet games when there's time.
I love music, the water, and being able to run and play again.

I LOVE the photo you took with your daughter. It has been a fantasy that I could train in martial arts with my children, (although I don't have any yet.) So inspiring! Congratulations on all your success.
