Hi everyone. I am German girl currently living in the UK with my English husband and black lazy rescue cat Jenny.
I'm a freelance seamstress specialising in vintage inspired clothing that I either design myself or make from original patterns.
I am also a runner, walker, hiker and cyclist and enjoy being active outdoors.
I have given up diets an calorie counting and aim for healthy eating and giving my body what it needs plus the occasional treats. This works pretty well as my body rewards me with running faster and longer every week. I can't sit still anymore and therefore wont.
Running a half marathon race in October 2011. I have conquered the distance in a training session with my husband the other week and feel now ready to race. In fact, I can't wait.
Goal time is under 2 hours. Watch this space!!!!
I run A LOT!!! I try to aim for at least 5 times a week varying my runs from sprint sessions to short runs to long and slow and anything in the middle. It seems to work. I do not follow a particular plan. I listen to my body and when it wants to run fast I make sure it does. Sometimes it just doesn't want to run at all, then I go and take it for ice cream. I deserve it, my body deserves it. I love my body!!! It does great things. I also do strength training 3-4 times a week for 15-20 min.
I have not joined a gym and don't think I ever will again. I spend a lot of money on gyms in the past and never went. My gym is the great outdoors, a fitness mat and some free weights.

Haha running sounds like a good plan so you don't have to go naked, although I'm sure your seamstress superabilities would be able to whip whatever dress into shape...but I know the point is to get back to pre-vacation size! Somehow, after no sleep and excess consumption of food and alcohol, I managed to maintain. Must be all that Jillian strength training I've been doing! The boy gets home in a couple days, and I'm sure the 2 weeks ahead will be filled with crazy amounts of food being offered up. With a wedding and a bridesmaids dress I have to fit into in a little over a week, my plan is to stick with what I've been doing and to just say NO! No dessert, no snacking after 8 PM, and being picky about what I eat at restaraunts! If not, I may have to go naked as well, and that won't be pretty, for anyone Glad to see you still on here doing well, and so glad your hubby's back :)

Oh trust me, the first day back I did 30DS and wanted to die....my roommate had been doing level 3 so I said sure, and then 3 minutes regretted it. But I just did No More Trouble Zones today and finally managed to do both reps of the 'surrender' move.....it was pretty encouraging :)
also I love your dresses. Any thoughts on what sort of vintage dress would work best on me? I have the curse of being busty but with hips/waist that curve about as much as a tree trunk, haha

That's ok! I totally understand. I am the same way - as long as the room is clean and tidy, I am fine with it. But Jan and I went to London in 2009 and picked a cheap, cheap room to sleep in, and it was TOTALLY NASTY! It was such a tacky place, the furniture looked like they had picked it up off the street when someone threw it out. LOL It was hilarious!! We got such a laugh out of it. We will find something, I am sure.

Glad to see you BACK!!!! Did I tell you I might be coming to London in the end of July or beginning of August??? Can you recommend nice/decent places to stay? A girl friend of mine is coming over from the US and wants to take me over there... Kid-free!! =) Let me know if you have any ideas. She also wants to go up and visit Scotland.
