Goals for Healthy life

I'm a 49 year old female and mother to 7 children. Ive struggled with weight since my last child was born 17 yrs ago where I got gestational diabetes and kept it, type 2. I also moved to a small town 20 years ago and have to drive everywhere to get anywhere, after living in a city my whole life and not struggling with weight. I need help to lose this weight. I have severe medical problems as a result of the weight other than the diabetes and am hoping the weight-loss can help correct some of it ...

My Goals:
Id like to go down in weight to at least 145Ibs. Small goals are easier so this is mine for now.

My Program:
I do strength training 4 days a week, walk 2 miles a few days a week, and do cardio in between. As long as the weather holds I can stick to this routine.

I was born and raised in New York. My name is Joan.

Other Information:
I love to read so I read anything I can get my hands on. I like old movies, sci-fi or musical movies.
I believe that motivation, and success are in us all. If we look forward and not back anything is attainable.

Its been at least 2 weeks since I logged on. Yes I've had time. Yes I've been in front of the computer, actually often in fact. But somewhere I lost track of myself and my goals. I did keep in mind everything I learned so far about eating right. I have gone over my daily goals I'm sure. I haven't even been to the gym because they closed it over the last 2 weeks to renovate the floors during the holiday. That place was my life-line especially when the weather was bad, but I exercised at home some, didn't gain any weight, but didn't lose any either, got a Zumba Wii CD my daughter and boyfriend gave me together with a new pedometer and began again the day after Xmas. I started tracking foods December 31st, logging in and tracking fitness. I hope to be back on track soon. Believe me when I say to anyone who's been down this road It can become routine again. I felt sore and badly the whole time I was off track, but I managed to forgive myself and am moving forward. Even my sleeping patterns were off something terrible. I'm back now and hope my journey takes me to new places. emoticon emoticon
