Susan's Losing It

I'm a 41 year old Christian stay-at-home wife and homeschooling Mom. I live in Texas and I blog at http://homesteadmomma.com. I've been slightly overweight ever since having my first son 17 years ago, but really ballooned up after my last pregnancy and the loss of our son, Gabriel. I'm ready to lose some of this weight for health reasons, specifically to avoid diabetes and heart problems.

My Goals:
I plan to officially begin my lifestyle change in August, after returning from vacation. I would like to lose at least 50 pounds at this point to get down to 160. After I've achieved that goal, I'd like to set another goal to lose about another 30 pounds to get down to around 130.

My Program:
My goals at this point is go to on a low carb diet, eating more fresh/raw veggies and cutting back on my bad fats, sugar, and processed grains. I'm also going to begin walking for 30 minutes in the morning and evening, everyday that I can.

Personal Information:
I live in on a farm in Central Texas.

emoticon ABC's of Life

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"234 years ago...on July 4th, 1776
This great nation, the United States of America,
In a struggle for what was right and free,
Was proudly born...
May we celebrate that precious freedom
For which our forbears fought so bravely...
The freedom that is inherent
In the Stars and Stripes, our revered flag...
Celebrate Freedom
This Fourth of July!"

Have a happy and safe 4th! emoticon
