Hi, I'm Melanie and I need to lose a lot of weight. Weight has been an issue for most of my life. Once, in my early 20's, I lost nearly 90 pounds. Like Oprah, I think I can say that I was 140 for a day. Then, it started to go back up. I lost about 35 pounds before my wedding, nearly 12 years ago, but happily became pregnant just a month later. I've been gaining ever since! Now, my line is "I'm taking time for me." I get up early so that I have 45 minutes to an hour to exercise, and I've committed to a clean eating lifestyle. I'm looking forward to sharing some of my joys and frustrations here with the many supportive members of SparkPeople.

My Goals:
My goals are to:
1. Pray, pray, and pray some more.
2. Give thanks and glory to God.
3. Log food and exercise regularly.
4. Get fit and healthy.
5. Enjoy the journey.

My Program:
I am exercising 6 days a week for 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours each day.

I am following the clean eating principles from Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book and Clean Eating magazine.

Personal Information:
I live in NW PA and am originally from Pittsburgh (go Steelers). I am married to an awesome husband and have 2 amazing children. We homeschool and love the flexibility that homeschooling affords us, especially the ability to put God first in all that we do.

Favorite Book: The Bible
Favorite Passages from the Bible: Psalm 100; Colossians chapter 3; Romans 8:28, among many others.
Favorite Places to Visit: Allegheny National Forest area, Maine (Acadia National Park), Florida
