I started this for my kids, but I'm finishing it for me

My name is Holly and I'm 38 years old. I was a chubby child, a fat teenager, and an obese adult. I began my journey at the age of 34 weighing 307 pounds. Only being 5 feet tall, I was about 160 pounds overweight, and going to be in serious trouble if I didn't change my life.

I'm a social worker for a hospital, I've been married for 13 years, and have 2 awesome kids who are 11 and 9. I decided that I wasn't going to be the fat mom anymore so I joined Spark in June 2010, and ...

I'm a social worker for a hospital, I've been married for 13 years, and have 2 awesome kids who are 11 and 9. I decided that I wasn't going to be the fat mom anymore so I joined Spark in June 2010, and started a journey to a healthier lifestyle not only for me, but for my family as well.

My weight loss has slowed dramatically, and a lot of that has been my own doing. I've changed the date to reach my goal to... whenever I get there. I'm too happy living my life to say no to a piece of cake, or a slice of pizza.

*5/20/2014* And NOT saying "NO" has resulted in a 25 pound weight gain... I'm still fighting and I WILL reach my goal!

Your Journey and Your honesty is amazing. The journey is just that, it's a process that just doesn't stop. I'm getting close to the half point in my journey. I'm exhausted, but i'm going. Just keep pushing. I'm thrilled you found your groove and that your getting your groove back. You don't need to be perfect, you just need to try. Congratulations on a wonderful journey. Please know that sharing your experiences, the good, and the tough ones, especially tough ones, gives hope and encouragement to people like me.
