Here I Go...Again!

Losing weight is another step in me taking control of my life. I've overcome many obstacles and made several changes recently, and this is my new and probably most difficult challenge. But I'm ready for it. I'm making my journey public in order to motivate myself to reach my goal, and hopefully to motivate others as well. I've been overweight for a long time now, but I've promised myself that I was going to be in shape by the time I turn 40. It's not going to happen unless I make it ...

Update 1/2/2013: Well, I'm 40, and not only am I not in shape, even though I've slightly improved, but now I've been recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and cholesterol. I'm not taking this sitting down! I've stopped following the Primal Blueprint and I've opted for the easier, heart-healthier DASH lifestyle. I've been walking more, and I hired a personal trainer for 8 sessions starting next week. This needs to be a lifestyle change, and even though I am not where I want to be physically right now, I know that I will be if I keep my goals in mind.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to be as healthy as possible, both mentally and physically. There are several steps under this umbrella that I need to take. 1) Exercise regularly, 2) Eat healthy foods, 3) lose 50 pounds.
