New Day Every Day

I started at 240lbs and I'm down to about 155lbs... it has taken me almost 2 years and every day is a new day with new lessons and choices. I hope one day to be able to compete in a triathalon or marathon of some sort but I'm not quite there yet... :) My two kids give me all the reason in the world to change my lifestyle. I often think of myself as a recovering food addict much like one might be a recovering alcoholic... every day I find it challenging to make good choices. My down fall is ...

My down fall is sugar... almost any kind of baked sugar, cakes, pies, tarts... if I never would gain a pound from eating it I'm not sure I would ever stop eating those things. ;)

You have a wonderful story to share!! I live in Oshawa and lost over 50 lbs myself after having my daughter. She is 6 years old now and I have been able to maintain my weight within 3-5lbs. I saw that you are in the durham region and thought I would say hello :)

Good for you for losing 100 lbs - wow! There are some articles under the Healthy Lifestyles section on how to break through a plateau - maybe those will help!

Holli, First of all, emoticon on your weight loss thus far! I'm sure it is frustrating to be stuck where you are now, but perhaps your body is simply readjusting to the "new" you before moving to a lower weight. There's an excellent series of articles here http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitnes
s_articles.asp?id=516 on getting past plateaus. Maybe you will find something there that will be of help. Meanwhile, hang in there! emoticon
