Hello! Thanks for taking the time to check out my SparkPage. I hope to be healthier by participating in this website. Since starting working full time in June 2011, I've gained weight back (new stresses, demands, and not as much time to workout). My Goals:
To maintain my weight loss and feel good about myself. Weight maintenance range = 136 to 144 pounds, which at 5'5" puts me at a healthy BMI.

My Program:
I try to eat right most days and I also exercise at least 30 minutes Mon.-Fri. in the mornings, and I almost always go for a 20-30 minute walk on my break at work. I alternate between aerobics and strength training, mostly using fitness DVDs, my Wii Fit and Wii Fitness Coach and SparkPeople's workouts. I do some form of exercise on Sat., sometimes aerobic, sometimes yoga. I also try to do some yoga or walking on Sundays.

Personal Information:
I live in central Wisconsin in a small town I grew up in. I love it here! We get the best of each season, and our little town feels safe - everybody knows everybody.
I have three children (Carissa, 16; Haley 11; Daniel 6). I've been happily married for 13 years to my high school sweetheart, Adam. I work in childcare.

Other Information:
I enjoy surfing the web, reading, exercising, making Stampin' Up! cards, reading gossip and health mags, and camping. And my favorite DVDs are interval/circuit training ones.

Hey! Good luck to you one the 5K. Once you do it, you'll be hooked. Running is very addicting. I can't wait to get out there and run again. I miss it so much (my hubby is never home early enough for me to get out and go, and I am not too fond of the treadmill).

Baby "cooking" is good. Put on more weight already than I wanted, but I'm determined (already) to take it off later. Next summer, I hope to have most of it off already.

Thanks for sending a little note. Always nice to hear from friends. :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog. You just keep going and you will be rewarded. I have exercised all my life, but had a few months in between when family obligations prevented me from exercising, or, as last year, when I had my hip replacement. I can't imagine not exercising, because I still want to be able to play with my smaller grandkids. The youngest is 15 months, and I just returned from a visit and had so much fun with her. So, don't think being in your thirties is old. There is a whole life ahead of you. I always believed that you will get out of it whatever you put into it. I also believe that staying active will guarantee you a better quality of life in your later years.
So, keep it up!

Thanks for commenting on my vlog! At that point on Saturday, I had been doing pretty well... but admittedly, I slipped a LOT afterward. I decided that Saturday night was "close enough" to Easter to break my sugar-fast and had a PB egg... and then another... and another... and then a few jelly beans... and a dove chocolate.... and then my hubby took away the candy (thankfully- LOL!). Yesterday I wouldn't say I "binged" but I definitely ate more than I planned.... ate til I was uncomfortably full and struggled again with just taking a piece of candy here and there throughout the day. It seemed like EVERY delicious food at family's yesterday was loaded with cream cheese and sugar... I felt so bloated and nasty burpy blah last night I only ate a tiny bowl of soup for dinner and went for a half hour walk (since running was NOT going to happen with my nasty stomach). So anyway, back on track this morning! Started with PUMP class, and just had a delicious breakfast of overnight-oats with almond and cherries. Here's to a fresh start this week, for both of us! :)

Hey Heather! To answer your question about my page background... I just search online for pattern images, and download the image I like. Then you can upload to the page background (just like you did with your adorable family photo!) and it will tile the image.

There are a ton of really artsy, cute pattern blogs out on the web... I'd suggest searching for a "pattern blog" and then browsing through them. Or if you have a specific image in mind (like "food pattern") do an image search. :) Simple pimple! LOL

Hope that helps!

Hey Heather... thank you so much for your support on my recent blog. I really appreciate your encouragement, especially since you've been on this path longer than I, and definitely understand. I had a little breakdown last night, bawling to my hubby about how frustrated I am that this STILL is SO HARD... that it just STAYS hard, and I still can't truly see this "new me" that HE (and apparently many others) sees and loves. I definitely am struggling with body-image, and some days (like you say) are better than others where I DO feel and think I LOOK fit... but others... all I can do is compare myself to this extreme level of fitness where I'm not yet, and I pinch at the tiny bit of pudge of my abs, and pull at the skin under my arms and think, "Gaah! Why won't this GO AWAY!?" The waning compliments has definitely affected my own self-perception, too, I think. I thrive on words of affirmation, and so to have people not praise or ask about it anymore, and even now people that don't KNOW I lost a bunch of weight, really is discouraging. (Like, my mother-in-law's friend last weekend said when I helped myself to 5 pieces of sweet-bread [yikes], "Oh you're just SO SKINNY and you can eat LIKE THAT!" I got mad and said, "NO, actually I can't; I've lost a lot of weight, and work really hard to stay fit, and RARELY indulge like this.")

Anyway, sorry for all the blabbering. I really do appreciate your support. I hope that we each find our happy moderate lifestyles eventually... at least one day at a time, right? :)
-Whit
