My Goals:
To maintain my weight loss and feel good about myself. Weight maintenance range = 136 to 144 pounds, which at 5'5" puts me at a healthy BMI.

My Program:
I try to eat right most days and I also exercise at least 30 minutes Mon.-Fri. in the mornings, and I almost always go for a 20-30 minute walk on my break at work. I alternate between aerobics and strength training, mostly using fitness DVDs, my Wii Fit and Wii Fitness Coach and SparkPeople's workouts. I do some form of exercise on Sat., sometimes aerobic, sometimes yoga. I also try to do some yoga or walking on Sundays.

Personal Information:
I live in central Wisconsin in a small town I grew up in. I love it here! We get the best of each season, and our little town feels safe - everybody knows everybody.
I have three children (Carissa, 16; Haley 11; Daniel 6). I've been happily married for 13 years to my high school sweetheart, Adam. I work in childcare.

Other Information:
I enjoy surfing the web, reading, exercising, making Stampin' Up! cards, reading gossip and health mags, and camping. And my favorite DVDs are interval/circuit training ones.

Good luck with your 5K!! I know you will ROCK the race!!

And I'm excited to have you on-board with the fitness challenge. :) Do your best with what you can nutritionally (i know you are always!). It's mostly about portion control and spreading your food across the whole day, and keeping things as minimally processed as possible. I know what you mean about cost, though. 99% lean turkey is $5/1.2 lbs at the grocery! Yikes! Maybe I'll find a sale... LOL.

So.... SP Coach Stepf changed the publication date for my dailyspark blog (as you might have noticed-- it didn't happen yesterday). Next Wednesday is when I'm slotted now... we'll see if it happens. ;) hehhee

Hey Heather! You're maintaining, right? And you're happy maintaining? Or are you trying to LOSE more weight? If you're HAPPY maintaining around the same weight, and you find yourself in the over-indulging pattern for the weekends, but still keeping your weight around the same number, then I think I'd probably learn to roll with it (at least that's pretty much what's happening for me, too!). I also indulge more on the weekends, BUT, I've been staying about the same weight--within 2 pounds up or down-- for the past couple months. I'm on track mostly during the week (except last night. LOL!) and know that I have mostly healthy habits. So I'm thinking the pattern is working out okay, since I still get to enjoy myself with family and eating out occasionally without the guilt-factor.

Maybe try keeping your weigh-in day on Friday mornings instead of Mondays? The higher number I often see on Mondays isn't "real weight" and is usually bloat. I know it's going to be there, but since I'm maintaining, I'm just learning to let it go and know that it will change again, and isn't a big deal. If you do well all week, stick to your weigh-in only on Thursday or Friday.

Or, if you really want to change your weekend habits, and drop a few more pounds, maybe do a weigh in on BOTH Saturday and Sunday, instead of waiting until Monday to "see the damage." That way you'll gauge how your body is reacting "mid-weekend" and can retune your habits if need be.

It's definitely all quite a learning process isn't it?? I actually wrote a blog that will be published in the DailySpark this week (eeee! I haven't really spilled the news yet, but have been teasing about my "surprise"), and it's about some of my experiences lately in maintenance. "Finding Freedom From Numbers"-- I think you might like it, so be watching your DailySpark notifications in the emails!

Have a great day, friend!
Whit

Hey Heather!! Glad you liked my vlog!! And THANK YOU for the gourmet dinner! LOL! I am most definitely no super-woman, and have the blessing of no children at THIS point in my life, so I can spread my focus far and wide. I'm sure that will all change with kids in time!!

You should definitely practice the eye-liner trick... it really does make a huge difference in the overall openness and definition of my eyes, so I def. recommend giving it a whirl! The trick is to use a crayon/pencil liner (not liquid) for a more natural, softer look, and smudge it if you need to. Also, as I showed, try not to go too far IN to the corner of your lid and focus more and drawing the line STRAIGHT from where the last begins out past the corner of the eye. When you go straight-- versus following exactly along the lash-- it makes a natural looking curve like the "cat-eye" look, without being as dramatic (if that makes sense). The liner just gets a tiny bit higher away from the lash toward the outer corners, and then you can fill in to the lash.

Hope that helps! Post pics if you give it a try!!! :)
