Hello! Thanks for taking the time to check out my SparkPage. I hope to be healthier by participating in this website. I lost about 40 pounds while breastfeeding my son for 12 months, then lost another 5 pounds, for a total of 45 pounds lost. Since starting working full time in June 2011, I've gained weight back (new stresses, demands, and not as much time to workout). My Goals:
To maintain my weight loss and feel good about myself. Weight maintenance range = 136 to 144 pounds, which at 5'5" puts me at a healthy BMI.

My Program:
I try to eat right most days and I also exercise at least 30 minutes Mon.-Fri. in the mornings, and I almost always go for a 20-30 minute walk on my break at work. I alternate between aerobics and strength training, mostly using fitness DVDs, my Wii Fit and Wii Fitness Coach and SparkPeople's workouts. I do some form of exercise on Sat., sometimes aerobic, sometimes yoga. I also try to do some yoga or walking on Sundays.

Personal Information:
I live in central Wisconsin in a small town I grew up in. I love it here! We get the best of each season, and our little town feels safe - everybody knows everybody.
I have three children (Carissa, 16; Haley 11; Daniel 6). I've been happily married for 13 years to my high school sweetheart, Adam. I work in childcare.

Other Information:
I enjoy surfing the web, reading, exercising, making Stampin' Up! cards, reading gossip and health mags, and camping. And my favorite DVDs are interval/circuit training ones.

Thanks for visiting my curvy hooper vlog. I love making exercise fun! I can only hoop with adult-sized hoops. Have you tried one of those? Makes a big difference. I can send you some info if you like.

So you didn't think of the older crowd. I one of them. Ok so I couldn't do all of them. I did what I could, tried the one I couldn't (at least I tried). It was a great work out just the same. emoticon emoticon

Aaaah you are SO RIGHT! The book I'm reading discusses all the "tendrils" of profit that stem from an unhealthy society, and promoting less-than-healthy diet standards in our country. First, the food companies profit. Then, the drug companies profit. Then, the medical companies profit (from increasing needs for surgeries and operations). And also, throughout it all, the insurance companies profit.

"Everyone WINS!" by having a primarily fat, unhealthy, disease-laden society.... at least everyone but the unhealthy people themselves.

It's a very sad, sad system we're caught up in... definitely needs to change, but I don't have the answers as to HOW!?!

Heather, I read your comment to Coach Nicole.

In September '09, I ran my first 5k in 27:00. I was very proud of that. I still am! I told She(WMBO) that I had ab-so-lute-ly NO desire for longer races. I told her that if I ever uttered the word "marathon" in any context other than to buy gasoline in the Southern United States, she was to dig a shallow grave out back and shoot me in the head.

In June '10 we went to Ireland and She suggested I include a race on my vacation. The only one I could find that crossed our path was a 10k. The camel's nose was under the tent.

At Thanksgiving '10 we visited Savannah to see our daughter who is an OB-GYN resident there. I ran the Turkey Trot. She asked me if I was going to run in the just announced Savannah Rock and ROll Marathon in November '11 (11/05/11). I demurred: "I don't have any desire to run a marathon or a half marathon."

When I got home, I thought, "Well, why not try it?" I signed up, committed! I called her to ask if she had registered yet. "What are you nuts? I'm still doing my residency. I dont' have time for that." I think I was snookered.

So far in 2010, I have run 14 races with 4 more still on my dance card: eight 5ks run, two 10ks run, one duathlon (5k, 19.5 mi bike, 5k), one triathlon (1k swim, 17.5 mile bike, 3.55 mile or 5k+ run), one Half marathon, one 20 miler, with one 5k, one 5 miler, and two marathons scheduled.

As JRR Tolkien had Bilbo Baggins say, "It's a dangerous thing stepping outside your front door. You never know where the road may take you."

Never say never.
