The sun sets on one day, but rises again on a new morning.
After my husband died of brain cancer two years ago I went from an under-weight 140 lbs to the other spectrum of 220 at the beginning of 2015. Now that I have gotten some mental help to get my brain in shape it is time to get my body in shape as well.
Now I am getting my gardening, pet walking, house fixing self on the road to health. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I am a familiar enemy/friend of prednisone. Aah, keeping weight in check while trying to eat everything in the house--such fun!
Eat food, mostly plants, not too much (to quote Michael Pollan).
I WILL fit back into that slinky little grey dress that only fits below 150lbs! And I intend to keep it that way.
My joints need less stress on them, my husband needs less stress on him--getting healthy will help both of those goals.
Snacking is my downfall, so 4 meals a day is my plan for food. I don't eat out much so most everything is home made. Exercise is a bit difficult, so I take it where I can get it--like belly dancing around the house, walking the dog, and gardening outside.

Heather, I have to tell you that the warming gloves that I bought from the website that you told me about, aren't warm enough for me. I feel so disappointed about it all! I guess I must have more pain than other people. I'll have to tell Joanna too since she told me that you had them. I have made my mind up to go on whatever biologic my Rheumy suggests would work the best for me. My next appt. with him is Nov. 19 now. I just can't take this chronic pain much longer! Thanks for all your effort at trying to help me. I'm so glad that they work good for you. These were the ones that you plug right into the computer. If I remember right, you are on a biologic now, aren't you? Maybe I can still use them when I would get more pain lessened with the biologic. Happy Halloween!

Thanks Heather! I'll still have my son and husband look at what you wrote and decide what plug is which. I just don't get these little plug-ins, etc.! They're like a bunch of doo-hicky's to me. Ha! Have a great week-end and thanks again!

Hi Heather, Joanna (Bookwerm) had told me about the warming gloves that you had ordered and are using, that you really love them. I just got done ordering me a pair from the same site. Joanna had said something to the fact of being careful not to plug them into your USB port but something else. I didn't really understand that completely and thought that you would help me understand it more. I certainly don't want to fry my computer when I do get them. I know that they'll come with instructions no doubt, but that you would know more by your own experience. I'm really looking forward to getting some help! My hands are always so cold and painful. The cold I think comes from both hands having carpal tunnel surgery in the 80's. I know too that our hands can get cold some due to the RA. I also know that all my chronic pain comes from the RA! Errrr! Take care and I hope that you and your husband are doing good.
