As a teen and young adult I was in amazing shape, trim but curvy and very fit, having taken ballet/jazz since I was 6 and dancing 5 days a week, teaching classes, etc. After college, I just didn't seek it out anymore (I think I was actually depressed for awhile there - college friends had all moved on to their new jobs while I was still working my college job, and had no idea what I wanted to do with my degree, but knew I didn't want to move back home), then met my now husband, who is an ...
As a teen and young adult I was in amazing shape, trim but curvy and very fit, having taken ballet/jazz since I was 6 and dancing 5 days a week, teaching classes, etc. After college, I just didn't seek it out anymore (I think I was actually depressed for awhile there - college friends had all moved on to their new jobs while I was still working my college job, and had no idea what I wanted to do with my degree, but knew I didn't want to move back home), then met my now husband, who is an amazing cook. And a tall, sturdy guy. Who would make me, all 5 feet and 125 pounds of me, the same sized portions as him (all 6 feet 3 and 225 pounds of him), and then tease me if I didn't finish ("What, you didn't like it?") - he meant well, and I was falling in love, so...15 years, 2 kids, a million excuses, and 60 pounds later, here I am.

This last fall I was put on medication for hypertension that had been rearing its ugly head for a couple years on and off since our second child was born. Blood pressure medication at 36 years old was NOT in my plan. If looking crappy in clothes wasn't motivation enough for 10 years, then a little pill every morning was. I'm out to lose about 60 pounds, and get back to a size 5-8 clothing - which for a person who is 5 feet tall is completely reasonable.

My Goals:
To get back down to a healthy weight, get off blood pressure medication, and maybe reduce my thyroid medication as well if possible.

My Program:
Reducing portion sizes, rarely drinking soda, and starting to dance again.

LOL about eating the same breakfast. That's my "I have to get out of here now" breakfast, travels better than cereal. ;) And I totally check out everyone elses food stuff too :)
