"Perserverance is the key to any great accomplishment"

I joined SP in July 2010 with the goal to lose 8-10 pesky pounds. My weight loss venture got side tracked quickly when my appendix ruptured in August. By the time I went to the hospital they guessed it had ruptured 48 hours ago (lesson learned--when you're really sick don't keep waiting to feel better). I lost A LOT of weight when I was in the hospital, but eventually I started eating again and couldnít workout and when I was able to my energy levels just werenít the same.

I lost A LOT of weight when I was in the hospital, but eventually I started eating again and couldnít workout and when I was able to my energy levels just werenít the same.

Even though I was working out and eating healthy I started to gain weight, which was very frustrating since I was trying to lose weight. I even had a trainer and nutritionist look at my food intake and exercise schedule and no one could figure out why I was gaining weight. I had my blood levels checked-normal, full physical-healthy, so I said the best you can do is keep on going. I bought a new scale only to find out mine had been off and I actually weighed MORE and thus my frustration and weight (142 lbs!!!!) peaked at the end of 2010.

So, Iíve started 2011 with new found motivation. Motivation to push my body harder, vary my workouts, and try to cut out as much processed food as possible and eat more all natural food. My ultimate goal is to be 125 but my goal for now is 132, Iím trying out smaller goals to keep me motivated and my goals within reach. On top of that this year I WILL be good about taking my measurements. I struggled with an eating disorder in the past and I know how obsessed I can get with the scale, so I have to remember the scale is a piece of the puzzle not the whole puzzle.

Iíve also added some other realizable goals for 2011 including: running my first race. Iíve been jogging for years but Iíve never had something to work towards so this year I WILL be doing a 5k in the spring and a 10k by the fall. Iím devoted to making 2011 the year I focus on good health and getting my body where I want it to be, knowing it will never be perfect because nothing is but that doesnít mean I canít get it to a place where a bikini is welcomed clothing article and not a nightmare!

My Goals:

My Program:
1- Track all of my food keeping my average calorie intake b/w 1250-1400 with 1 cheat meal a week (nothing crazy just not tracked)

Cardio: 200 Mins a week of varied types...no more spinning 5x a week it's NOT working Holly!

Strength: upper body 3x/wk; lower body 2x/wk

I live in the beautiful city of Boston with my dog, Mackenzie. I have a great job, friends, family, and an amazing boyfriend. I'm a lucky girl and I remind myself that every day!

Hey girl-- you're too funny!! Thanks for your comment on my blog (as always). :) I don't think you're a creep at all!! We all have those other people we admire and look to for motivation every day, so I am absolutely HONORED and flattered to be one of yours! (Seriously-- it's unbelievable to me MOST days how many wonderful people I encounter here who seem to find ME--of all people--their motivation. It's wild to me, since I'm just ordinary, and struggle like everyone else.) But thank you. You're a sweetie!

Just remember... your dinners don't need to be boring to still lose weight and reach your goals and stay healthy!! If you like tuna and lettuce, try jazzing it up by mixing in chickpeas (either cook ahead, or drain/rinse canned ones!), parmesan cheese, and salt/pepper. Then drizzle with 1 T. lemon juice mixed with 1 tsp. olive oil. This is a go-to lunch for me when there's not much else happening in my fridge for leftovers! It's tasty, filling, light, and really healthy!! Let me know if you try it... ;)
