Queen to Princess

I recently turned 30, and I always said my 30s would be the best decade of my life (until I reached my 40s, of course). So much planned - so much to do! I am always busy! Unfortunately, that is always my excuse for not exercising and taking care of myself. I can't, I don't have time. Well - there is no reason not to make time....I am so sick of saying, "Tomorrow, I am going to start." I am so sick of playing that game. I may delay, but time will not.

Well - there is no reason not to make time....I am so sick of saying, "Tomorrow, I am going to start." I am so sick of playing that game. I may delay, but time will not.

I have been overweight for 25 years - yes, for as long as I can remember understanding what overweight meant. I have failed and I have succeeded in my numerous weight loss attempts, but none were permanent - hence, I am here now. My biggest achievement was going from 232 to 161 six years ago. As you can tell, I have gained a lot of that back - of course, I constantly battle with that emotionally. I succeeded by following the Atkins Diet, but realized (literally) it was very easy to gain the weight back if it's not continuously followed.

I need to lose the weight by following a sensible and balanced plan that includes exercise. So - that is my plan. Yes, I have been through MANY plans. Funny - all I have tried has taught me so much - what not to do, what I need to do, etc. Now I just need to combine all that I have learned and do it right. Sounds simple enough...

I am ready for a change. I am ready to feel the best I know I can feel. I want to walk into a store and buy that dress...yes, the one that contains lycra. Yes, I think I'll try that two piece swimsuit...

As you'll notice in my photo gallery, not many pics are full body - I try to keep those to a minimum. I would love to finally not care if someone happens to capture me from behind!

September 1, 2006, was the first day of the rest of my life as a healthier woman! This time, I need to take it one pound at a time. I am a fun person, I want to enjoy life in all aspects - I want to be always a happy on the inside as I seem to be on the outside.

My Goals:
Starting weight on 9/1: 207 (WOW, I would never normally share this with anyone)
Goal weight: 155
I want to show my daughter that she can achieve anything she puts her mind to...the best way to encourage this is to continue to teach by example.


My Program:
- Following a daily caloric intake of 1200 - 1500 calories.
- Circuit training 3 days a week
- Ball/resistance training 1-2 days a week
- Smiling every day
- Reading the wonderful successes and triumphs of my SparkPeople peers!


Personal Information:
I live (born and raised) in Pennsylvania, in a town called Reading, approximately 45 miles west of Philadelphia. I am 30 years old. I have a beautiful 12 year-old daughter, Ashley and a wonderful husband, Chris.

I work for a Financial Management firm, specifically in Retirement Planning. I am (finally) just about done obtaining my BA in Financial Management & BA in Performance Management. Haha, after that, I plan on working towards my Graduate degree. I hope to graduate before I turn 50.

Other Information:
I love life and all it offers - my goal is to enjoy every second of it!

PS: I LOVE football - GO EAGLES!
