Because I Can

I joined SPARKPEOPLE on July 6th 2010 and lost 50 pounds (193-143 pounds) by March 2011. I lost that weight by eating 1200 calories a day and walking. However, I wasn’t getting all the nutrients I needed at that calorie range and my hair started to fall out (thankfully I have thick hair). Even though I had 6 pounds more to lose to be at the top of my healthy weight range, I upped my calories and was able to maintain that 50 pound loss for another year.

While on vacation, in the summer of 2012, our home flooded. We had to move in with family while we worked on remodeling our home. I ate too much fast food during that time and gained 15 pounds.

For 2013 I’ve decided to take the focus off the scale and focus on fitness instead. I’m lifting weights and eating more calories, adding in lots of fruits/vegetables. One of my short term goals is to fit into a pair of shorts I have comfortably before I need them this spring/summer. (Goal reached 4/9/13)
