Hi! First, welcome to Spark! I hope you find it as useful as I have over the past year. As far as running goes, I started with the Couch to 5K plan (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/1 81.shtml). The key with this plan is to not be afraid to repeat weeks until you feel you are comfortable with the intervals. I started on the treadmill, but last Spring I took to running outside, which I must say I enjoy much more. Key tips: Don't skimp on the shoes. You will need a good pair with good support. It is worth the money to protect your joints. Don't be afraid to walk when you need to and listen to your body. I developed tendinitis in my heel within the first two months of running, but after rest and proper heel cushioning, I haven't experienced the same pain. Good luck! 1283 days ago
