The Healthy Lifestyle

I have been with Spark People since April 2009. As a cancer survivor I have long lasting health issues due to my radiation treatment. As a non-smoker and getting throat cancer or cancer at the base of my tongue it was devastating to hear BUT through the grace of God came through it. In 2009 I had some health issues that attacked my immune system and I worked with a nutritionist for 18 months on a healthy eating lifestyle and changes for the REST of my life that has helped me tremendously! ...

I have managed to make great strides in my life style change and weight. This is a journey for a lifetime and I will eventually get to my goal but in the meantime I am thrilled with the progess and success I have seen.

My Goals:
2011 started out OK but went from bad to worse with my Aunt on Hospice and eventually my Mom's illness, her many medical issues, hospice and death.. These deaths were devastating and eating on the fly and in between and no regular schedule has not helped BUT a weight gain was minimal at best!

MOVING FORWARD June 1st 2011 - I want to stay focused on getting to under 200 pounds by Christmas - as of May 21st I do not have my weight BUT I will be happy with ANY DROP I can get and will continue to focus on my healthy lifestyle!!

My Program:
To follow the 90/10 rule!

90% you stay on the program and there will be 10% of the time for vacations, celebrations or other things.

To stay focused on my healthy lifestyle eating and exercise

To remain POSITIVE and remember WHERE I was and know I will get to where I am going.

Happy to hear the two dogs will be compatible.
Have a good time getting exercise with Linus but don't overdo the leg work.
It is difficult to understand how people can mistreat animals, if they don't want to care for them they shouldn't get the animal in the first place. Know that Linus is now in for lots of love.

HI Laura
Well, your pup has come to the right place. The most wonderful gift of dogs is their ability to appreciate a good thing. He will thank you in spades for your kindness. Hugs for you:)

Thanks for the warm words of welcome back after my hiatus...and love the Continuing Saga of Linus! Hope you can work out your knee. I know how difficult a knee injury can be. Take it slow and easy. Linus, Colie, your teens, the Church and our team all need you!

I am behind the 8-ball in keeping up with the team, and just read about your injury. My goodness!! I hope you are healing. Amazing what can happen. Sending good thoughts and well wishes in your direction.
