Pressing Onward

Some lessons seem to take longer than others to learn. I joined Sparks in 2006. Now 6yrs later I am still about the same weight. During those years the scales have moved forward and backward. I found many excuses for this but realize the change has to come from within me.
It is now March 2012 and I am once again moving downward on my weight loss.

It is now March 2012 and I am once again moving downward on my weight loss.
God has called me to serve with my husband on the mission field. I know with a healthier body I could be more effective. So it is my desire to press on toward the goal.
With God's help I can find discipline. With the education and tools from Sparks I am developing new discipline habits. With the help of others here on the same path I have found encouragement and motivation.

Thinking of you my friend and wishing you the best in all that comes your way this year. Some will be good and some may stressful. When stress does come your way I want to share something that may help for it has me.I have been studying much this week over and over from Psalms 46:1-8 how deeply God cares for the deep needs that we have. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances, troubles and trials bring us discouragement and despair. The Psalmist identifies these to the upheavals in nature in verses 2-3, but He shows us his fearless trust in 2a and the reason why he has such trust in verse 1. God is our refuge, our strength, and our present help in time of trouble. He is the one we can run to 24/7. He cares and has the power to help, strengthen us in all our trials, trouble, distractions, and makes it where we can lean on him and relax as he is in control.
Hugs,
Lois
