PRESSING ON

"Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert."

Isaiah 4318-19

Isaiah 4318-19

God is able to make rivers spring forth in the desert. If He can do that, He can be trusted to cover the messes I've made in my past - and supply everything I need for a bright new future. That's the kind of God He is. He is the One who is able to take broken, worn out, failed, dusty experiences - and plant a beautiful garden.

If I want to experience all that He has for me, I must begin with the simple belief that He loves me and wants to do something special in me - no matter what has transpired up to this very moment. One of the ways I can show that belief is by seeking His will for my life, trusting Him for His wisdom to make the right choices and go in the right direction.

I thank God that with Him each day is a new beginning. I need not live in the past by focusing on failed diet attempts. Instead, I am ready for a fresh start and a brand new beginning. I eagerly embrace the future He has for me as I strive for optimal health through healthy eating and an active lifestyle.

My Goals:
"But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Phil. 3:7

My Program:
I am "getting healthy - the Bible Way" by eating the foods Jesus ate (a healthy mediterranean diet) and by walking at least 30 minutes daily. I start off each day with a devotional time of Bible reading and prayer knowing that by staying close to God through constant communication, I will receive a continual supply of strength to walk victoriously.

Personal Information:
My name is Jen and I am a 60 year old mother of 3 (2 daughters & 1 son) and grandmother of 3 (1 girl and 2 boys). I spent most of my life in NJ but my husband and I moved to the Lehigh Valley in PA 8 years ago to be near our oldest daughter & her family.

Thank you for your prayers. These parents need all of the support they can get. What happened to them should never happen to anyone. Thanks again. It really means a lot to have people like you out there that would take the time to pray for strangers.... emoticon

Hi Jen and welcome to the Lehigh Valley Sparks Team. We're glad to have you on our team. Are you going to share some of the recipes for the foods that Jesus ate? That would be very interesting for the rest of us. Good luck with your goals.
