Do Over

I'm doing over. Last year (2010) the doc said eat better and get some exercise or you'll be in big trouble, so I did... for a while. Then around Thanksgiving the stress got to me and I fell off the better eating/exercise wagon. Gained 5 lbs after having lost 35. So, I am asking for a do-over. My new goal is 20 lbs. Gosh, from where I started it seems so small, but mentally it will probably be the toughest. But here goes.

God says I'm a new creation (2 Cor 5:17), so I'm trying to live like one. I started this trip after my doctor said that I needed to eat better and exercise or I'd be in big trouble. So, the first thing I did was talk to my Father about it.

I've had rheumatoid arthritis since 1993, but thankfully it's under control right now. However, having it presents some problems with exercise. Anything that is too repetitive is creates a problem in the joint that takes months to overcome. So far dancing seems to provide a good workout without stressing anyone joint too much.

When I hit my intermediate goal of 15 lbs I am going to run through the house yelling woo whoooo and jumping up and down.

Goals:
2 lbs - by 2/28/2011

Hi Hilda,

So glad to hear from you. I have been really busy this summer. I worked in my yard almost everyday all day. The days I didn't was because I had errands or I was done in my back or legs. My yard looks great though. lol I started a 5k training thing through Sparkpeople. I didn't know if I could do the training or not. I wanted to do it. So far so good. I am in my third week of training. After buying shoes three different times (including expensive diabetic shoes) I finally found a pair that doesn't kill my feet. The diabetic shoes are terrible. They don't fit well and they hurt my feet something awful. I am going to try and take them back. The insurance wouldn't pay for them. They were expensive. I went to a sporting goods store and found "Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12" shoes. They have been totally comfortable with walking so far. They cost half of what the diabetic shoes cost.
I am in a mad rush to get the house cleaned up. I sort of let it go while working on the yard. I was able to do both. My sister and niece is coming down for the Labor Day Weekend. I hope it isn't raining while she is traveling or while they are here. We are waiting on that storm that is suppose to be a hurricane. We will be on the east side of it. That is the worst side to be on. The east side drops a lot of tornadoes and causes really bad storm. I hope it goes away from us or dies down.
I started into a 3rd plateau recently. I slow way down on losing weight and then stopped for two weeks. I upped my exercise intensity and dropped 3.5 pounds this weekend weight-in. So glad!
I had to start buying clothes finally. I wore my old size until the pants started falling down. ha ha ha I also bought sizes that are to small for later, because I don't have anything at all to wear when I get there. I waited until there was clearance sales and made out like a bandit. lol With a budget buying things on sale is the only way to go.
How are you doing, now? I hope everything is going really well for you, Hilda. Are you keeping up with your daily goals and eating healthy? How is exercises going? Exercise is where I have my biggest daily battles. I have to give myself a talk just about everyday. I know if I slack or don't do enough my weight will slow down. So I try to stay in line.
How is the family doing? How are you beautiful cows doing? So glad you got in touch. I love hearing from you. Take care of yourself. You are very important in GOD's plan. HE loves you! GOD bless you, Hilda. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad to hear from you, Hilda. Things are rough right now. Still haven't got the back surgeries. I need surgery on my feet. I just found out something is wrong with my left knee again. If it is what the doctor thinks, that will mean surgery again. I am pretty upset right now. I cringe just thinking about going through knee surgery again. So feeling pretty down right now. Need your prayers.
