I am a hiker. I love the Phoenix Arizona mountains (hills by east coast standards). I have hiked the Grand Cannon Havasupai at 43. As training, I hiked the Squaw Peak Summit Trail 3 times a week, which took me 45 min. to an hour round trip. According to the internet the trail is 2.4 total miles; elevation 1,190 feet. Today I doubt that I can hike it in less than 2 hours round trip. I love nature and prefer to be outside as much as I can. I love animals. My favorite is dogs of which I have two. ...

One is 8 years old the other 5 months. I am attempting to train the younger but he is dominant and not a really good listener without food to inspire his attention . . .(hummm). I am married to my soul mate. We have been together 37 years. Together we are growing older and fatter. My health is sliding a bit as I near 60. I wish to get back to better health, which I had been used to. I sit in my job and find I really sit too much. I look forward to making the changes that will yield a stronger healthier body. (Inspiring thought, now letís see if I can put that into action.)

You can look at a mountain as a wild place of beauty to view or paint or photograph from a safe distance; or a wild place capable of destruction like Mount St. Helens. Or you can look at it as a wild challenge that you take on one step at a time. When you begin the challenge you'll have no idea how long it will take to get to the top, but you know you will with the support of your team.

We are here for you! We'll help you climb that mountain. You'll find us on the rocky slopes, the shady valleys, the wild flower meadows, the glacier lakes. New Challenges are starting Sunday.
