I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for Diet/Fitness/Nutrition Information. I watched a video about it and decided to join. I plan to spend some time looking around and want to begin some kind of diet/fitness/weight loss plan this week ... probably the day after Labor Day (2008).

I have set/reset my goals here several times - I have had successes and setbacks ... but this site seems to keep me 'on track' ~ even if I 'stray' every now and again. I actually have lost 25 ...

I actually have lost 25 pounds with the help of SparkPeople ... have gained some of that back - but, as 2015 begins, I feel that I am well on my way ~ once again ~ to that healthy lifestyle that I know is good for me.

My Goals:
I started here in September, 2008 with a goal to get into shape and lose 24-25 lbs. by Christmas.

My main goal ~ as 2015 has begun ~ is to achieve a healthy lifestyle ... healthy, sensible eating and exercise is exactly what is needed!

My Program:
In 2010, I found the 5% Challenges. These Challenges, along with some common sense eating/exercising are some of the things that have helped me most on this journey to create a 'healthier' me.

~My favorite thing to do is be with and take care of my family.
~I love theatre, especially musical theatre.
~I work for a hospital Foundation.

Thanks for reading my blog. I tried this diet before and couldn't stick to it. There are a lot of recipes in the book that I didn't really care for so I gsve up. This time I decided to try harder and not to try to use the recipes in the book as much but to just follow the guidelines. I'm going t try to blog about my progress to stay accountable.

Thank you, Heidi, for all your kind and caring words. Yes, my sparkfriends are REAL friends, even if I have only met a few of them. And you all are what pulled me from the pit of despair I was wallowing in yesterday. Our Eli is just the light of my life - I love all the grand nieces and nephews, but somehow, the first time I held him it was different. Thank you for your good vibes, and I will keep you all posted.

Hi Heidi,
Thanks for coming over and reading my blog post. I have few people that also seem interested in keeping a health journal, so I might do some more post on it. It's a great way to keep track of things, and document the changes for the journey, plus being creative make me happy! Even if people feel like they aren't creative, they can add stickers and pictures for fun. I think it's a great way to document, and the art work just makes it a little more fun!
