I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for Diet/Fitness/Nutrition Information. I watched a video about it and decided to join. I plan to spend some time looking around and want to begin some kind of diet/fitness/weight loss plan this week ... probably the day after Labor Day (2008).

I have set/reset my goals here several times - I have had successes and setbacks ... but this site seems to keep me 'on track' ~ even if I 'stray' every now and again. I have actually lost 25 lbs. and as a result, reached my goal - but, slowly, over time I got 'lazy' and gained it all back! I find that as you get older, it is more difficult to lose - so, it is nobody's fault but my own, but this will take some work!

The start date for the 2017 Winter 5% Challenge (and the FIRST 5% Challenge of the New Year) is set for Saturday, 1/14/17. I'm looking forward to getting myself back on track and making some positive changes for 2017!

My Goals:
I started here in September, 2008 with a goal to get into shape and lose 24-25 lbs. I've achieved my goal in the past, but didn't pay attention all the time and I need to get back to and re-focus on that first goal (getting there and sticking to it).

My main goal is to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Healthy, sensible eating and exercise is exactly what is needed!


My Program:
In 2010, I found the 5% Challenges. These Challenges, along with some common sense eating/exercising are some of the things that have helped me most on this journey to create a 'healthier' me.

It is now the beginning of 2017 and the 5% Challenges are still a part of my SparkLife. I love the Challenges and plan to contine them as long as I'm a SP member. As an additional resource, (and a present to myself), I signed up for SparkCoach and began that feature on 1/1/17.

    1 Dye about 100 eggs, raw preferably, bright and bold colors. Eggs outdated by a few months or more work best. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    2 Go outside and bunny hop around the yard hiding the eggs. Squat to put each egg in place. emoticon

    3 Gather a few good natured friends or family members you don't particularly care for. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    4 On the count of 3, run to find the eggs. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    5 Upon reaching an egg, squat down to pick it up, stand, and pitch it at the closest opponent. Alternate arms to insure an equal work out on both sides. emoticon

    6 Repeat until all eggs are broken beyond re-throwing. emoticon

    7 Don't forget that cleaning (up) can be a workout in and of itself. emoticon

    And that is a wonderfully fit way to celebrate any spring holiday. Aren't you ready to hop to it?
