I always have a hard time with these introductions. I am married to the same man for 39 years or at least it will be in May we have a grown son & daughter and 2 wonderful grandchildren but whose granchildren are not wonderful right? We have our own small business and I lead women's bible studies. My weight has been bothering me for some time and I believe God wants me to do something about it so I will but I will need His help and yours. I have a little over 50 lbs to lose so I know it will take time but time is something I have so I will be patient and do the work required.

My Goals:
My goals are simple, I want to be as healthy as possible so I need to lose weight and exercise more. I would be very happy with 1 to 2 lbs a week and get back to walking my 5 miles a day. I used to be such a faithful walker and I just quit. I don't even know why exactly probably a bunch of reasons it does not matter I just need to start over and continue on to my goals.

My Program:
I am just starting so I am so far eating within my limits, walk 1 mile 3 times a week and I started to a little weight lifting only 10 minutes twice a week but I intend to move from there as I get stronger. I would like to drink that 8 cups of water yet so far only mange 4. Baby steps to be sure.

Personal Information:
Happily married most days. Mom and Grandma. Christian to the core! Love to read, garden, crafts and hopefully will soon love walking again.

Other Information:
HAPPINESS does not come as a RESULT of getting something we don't have BUT rather of RECOGNIZING and APPRECIATING what we do have!

One of my favorite Bible Verses:
The Golden Rule! Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you. What kind of world would it be if we all lived by this rule. HUGS!

    Hello and Welcome to SparkPeople!

I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self-discovery along the way, I’m down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. As a happy semi-retired free thinking, intelligent woman I love to challenge, encourage and stimulate. Spark is a massive site; you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come!
Diet is a dirty word, every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate emoticon emoticon

The greatest love story ever told is in the Bible:
John3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. K.J.V. in Public domain
