Before Raw Foods
After Raw Foods - 30 lbs lighter
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Hi there, I am here to meet new friends and gain support on my weight loss journey as well as lend support to others. I know I don't look like it, but I am not a junk food junkie, nor do I emotional eat or binge eat. Carbs are my downfall. I eat a cracker or a piece of bread and I look like the Pillsbury dough boy. I recently discovered raw foods and lost 30 lbs. Not sure why this works for me but it just does.
I just want to look normal standing next to my husband. He married a petite blonde and ended up with a fat brunette. How did that happen?
I am drinking fruit smoothies, eating raw foods to heal my body and keep my iron down. I walk on my treadmill Mon-Fri and do walking dvd's with my daughter.
I am a Messianic believer in Yahushua (Jesus). I am the mother of two teenagers, whom I am raising to observe the Sabbath (Saturday) and the feasts of YHWH. I like to study Torah on the Sabbath.....history, raw foods, organics and health issues, all other days of the week. My husband of 18 years is Pete and I have two cats (Mo and Bailey) and a dog (Sammy).
My interests are:
Camping, hiking the Smokey Mountains, sushi with friends, movies, swinging on the porch-swing on a cool morning, listening to the birds, WINDCHIMES, a fan blowing in my face when I sleep, Sabbath studies, a sterile environment, no clutter, silence, blueberry smoothies, Egyptian Musk candles, old cities and architecture, musty old houses with creaking floors, fields of flowers, bed and breakfast inns, war stories, flowers for no reason at all, a restaurant full of grandparents, fireflies at dusk, rain storms under a tin roof, exotic fruit, body massages, french manicures and pedicures, planning road trips, white linens, sterling silver, hand holding, reliable friends, new adventures, organizing, silky shirts, flip flops, sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold day, a blanket of snow on the trees, the breeze just before a big storm, a quiet dinner without kids, rustling trees, mild

Thanks for the greeting into the group! I am wondering if I am in the right place: I eat some cooked and some meat most days. My heart is raw vegan which I lived for three months and pretty much loved it. I am at a place where I see all food in light of how I think it was created by God. Also I like to follow what I read in the Christian Bible. The cab has much in common with the Torah, I think, in it's beginning chapters. It all gives me a thrill.
So! Do you think my food views (mainly not being 100% raw vegan) is not really what this team is looking for. Please let me know, and thanks again.

Thanks for welcoming me to the Raw Foodist group. I am so excited to find so many people on Sparkpeople eating raw food...I don't have any raw foodist where I live. My husband is super supportive but not interested in eating this way. I look forward to getting to know you better, congrats on the 30 lbs.!!!!!!

I am getting interested in raw foods too. I eat raw lunch and fruits, but I do eat cooked food. I love how healthy I feel since I stopped eating meat, not to mention all the little animals I am not digesting! :) do you have any good raw recipes?
