Hello Tomorrow

In the late part of 2007, I was at my heaviest. Weighing in at 176. Also at this time my father was battling terminal cancer and on January 18th, he passed away. Food proved to be a comfort in this hard time.

In the following month I gained even more weight, everyone we knew made us lots and lots of food! About a month after I knew i needed to make a lifestyle change.

Having something to focus on helped me to get really into my goals. In April of 2008 I was back down to 155! My motivation for getting healthy is my Father.

I am studying to become a nurse as a freshman in college and school has proven to be yet, another weight obstacle. At this point i am at 158 and ready to loose even more weight and get down to 140 and stay there!!

My Program:
The first 2 weeks of January i will be eating 1200-1550 calories- less than 56 grams of fat- less than 236 grams of carbohydrates (much less on days i do not work out) and at least 60 grams of protein. I will not introduce exercise into my plan until January 19th. Once i have gotten into a groove of eating well i will be working out 2 to 4 days a week, depending on how much time school takes up.

My Calories will come from pre packaged meals (without preservatives! Such as smart ones, healthy choice and lean cuisine) fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats (chicken, lean turkey), whole wheats and protein bars. I will be cutting out pop completely and drinking 8-12 glasses of water a day. As far as exercise i will be doing circuit training and cardio.

Thanks so much for the sparkgoodie!

I'm also training to run a 5k and entering the Keystone State Games to run the 100m race this June.

Good Luck to you, keep on Sparking!

It's cool to see that you're starting the couch-to-5k on August 25 - my birthday. When I started on June 2, my goal was to run a 5k on my birthday. I did one last night, but it was my third. I'm totally hooked, and am so glad to see someone else starting up. Great luck!
