Hello Miss Kitty

I joined SP to focus on finding and maintaining a healthy balance.
I'm at a healthy "normal" weight, average height, and (eek) middle age. I've spent much of my life working through issues with eating, depression, and self-esteem. Sometimes they are a distant memory, other times they move back into the foreground. Trying to stay one step ahead through self-awareness and accountability. (Not the most exciting Spark story, I know. But I'm glad to be here giving it my best shot!)

My Goals:
My goal:
Better eating and more exercise to improve my overall health. I'd like to ultimately end up a little leaner with lower blood pressure.

*The scale is not the only measure of success!*

My Program:
My 30 day Challenge!

Goal: Lose 7-10 lbs

Start: 21 December 2012
End: 21 January 2013

Plan:
1) log all foods every day, before eating them
2) walk at least 15mins/day (or bike at the gym)
3) weigh at least once weekly
4) journal progress every day

Personal Information:
- Big Picture Plan -

1) Journaling foods, preferably before I eat them, so that I am eating intentionally. It's easy to fall into bad habits of mindless munching or emotional eating.

2) Journaling thoughts, especially when I am feeling anxious and overwhelmed.

3) Moving more, intentional exercise.

4) Avoiding extremes: extreme calorie restriction, eating or drinking too much in social situations. All of these send me down unhealthy paths.

Other Information:
It helps me to read stories and posts of other people dealing with some of the same issues; learning where they find motivation, how they overcome tough challenges, stick to their goals, etc. I very much appreciate this site for those connections.

wow, so many sweet notes! i haven't been around for a while, but i am back and intend to be for some time. i adore this web site and am sincerely grateful for the support - and hope to repay it right back to these wonderful people! it's a tough struggle to stay healthy, much less painful with friends.
