I like to paint, go to the beach, and be "green" in my Yaris. :) I work at a library part time and am working on finishing my degree in liberal arts and addiction studies online. Education is very important to me. I have my associates degree in Art, but have studied anthropology, culinary arts and have gone to cosmetology school. When I finish my degree I would like to continue my education by getting my masters degree in library science or maybe even Christian counseling...who knows! Most people don't know that I have played about 6 different instruments. I love to travel and really want to see the world. I would most like to visit Germany to get an idea where my family is from as well as travel to Japan and go to Tokyo Disney. One of my life ambitions is to visit all of the Disney parks around the world. I could not live without my IPod Touch, my MacBook and my cell phone. I am a complete technology junkie, but I believe the world was a better place before people started texting while driving and only communicating through computers. My favorite TV shows are House, The Simpsons and I will always love Seinfeld. I have a secret weakness for Iron Chef though. That is all I can think of about myself...I feel like I went on forever though.

My Goals:
While my goals on the outside appear to be all about my weight, I must say that I am using my weight as a measure of my health. I used to be "obese" or so my BMI said. If I kept up life at this pace I would be down a road filled with health concerns. I want to be within the "healthy" weight range for my height. Although being a size 4-6 would be nice too :) I was on medicines that made me gain close to 80 pounds in 5 months. My goal is to get that weight off and return to my "old" self that I used to be. Sometimes I feel like I am wearing a fat suit, for a while I didn't recognize myself in the mirror at first glance. You are only given one body in this life so I am going to treat mine like I want to be around for a long long time.

My Program:
To meet my goals of living healthier and to loose weight I have been drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. I have completely given up diet soda and I do not miss it. I also am limiting my intake of processed foods and most meats except for some fish and chicken for protein. I am working on enjoying the beautiful climate that I live in by taking my doggy for walks every morning. He can only go for about a mile, but until I get into better shape that seems to work just fine for me. When late spring and summer come I plan on joining the Y so I can take classes and continue to be active as I will no longer be able to exercise outside in 100 degree heat with heavy humidity. In addition to this I am setting my alarm every morning for 7 am so I have time to get a walk in before work. Getting 8 hours a sleep a night has help so much. Too much sleep was making me lazy I believe.
