that's cause I can't walk fast enough to get out of my own way, lol. ok,ok, not funny...am here to start kicking my butt again. I did really good back in '08 by loosing 80 pounds, but now I've packed on 40 of those again. I've been a virtual prisoner of my house for the past 2 months because I've havent' been able to walk good or drive my car. I was diagnosed with arthritis in the hips, with bursitis, but that was caused by the arthritis. So I've no where to go but up, and stop being my own worst enemy! I'm only 46, and I have so much to do before I cross over. My wonderful auntie Gloria called me today, and said that her and her daughter Patti could help by being sparkpeople buddies, I think that's cool. It's so nice to know that your family is behind you. I shall try to come on here everyday, write my food down, and try and get some exercise done, I'll be a little slow at first, but something is definitely better than nothing.
I would like to "get back" to what other people would consider "normal" life, being able to go grocery shopping, drive my car, not have to use the electric cart in stores because it's too painful to walk. To go to rock concerts, and not have to have anxiety attacks about having to wait in long lines without my back screaming at me.
well, first step, was coming back to Sparkpeople. Changing the groceries that come into the house. And to start moving! I actually got a walker yesterday from my mom, and I can start by racing up and down the hallway! I do have a treadmill, but I think that may be a month or so down the road.
I live in beautiful downtown Hollis, in Maine. I have 2 sons, Nick who's 24, and Joe who's 20.
My favorite band of all time is Metallica! but I do like a good selection of bands, also found myself liking Switchfoot, the lead singer, Jon Foreman is a great, great songwriter! I just adore him. I come from a huge family, my mother is one of 10 children, so I have lots and lots of cousins. I 'm the oldest of 4 and the only girl. Two of my brothers are in Florida, a long, long way from Maine, sniff. My cousin Heidi is having the lap band surgery on monday, I'm anxious to see how that goes and how she does. I myself had been thinking of the gastric bypass, for health reasons, they thought I might have diabetes this summer, and I'd like to nip it in the bud if I can. But I'll have to wait and see if I can beat the cancer before I start thinking about the gastric bypass again. Hoping that this site will help me move my butt along.
