Life Will Always Have Ups and Downs....

Update - February 24, 2015: Well it's been 2 years since I last updated my page. A lot has happened in that time. I had my daughter on March 11, 2013. She is the love of my life! And I can't imagine life without her. She is almost 2 and is the cutest little thing, although I may be biased. Frank and I are still together and hoping to be married by the end of the year. Braxton is the best big brother and huge helper to me and his dad. I'm grateful for my family!

As far as the weight loss journey is concerned, I haven't focused on it in almost 2 years. My brother and his wife started a Biggest Loser challenge on February 2nd and Frank and I decided to make this lifestyle change. We have been doing really well so far, and I'm hoping this is the change we needed to be healthy. One day at a time to a healthier life!

Update - January 3, 2013: It always seems to be that at the beginning of the year I make an update on my sparkpage, and so to not change the tradition; here I go again!
I have been MIA on Spark People for a couple of reasons. The main one being I'm pregnant, expecting my first. I'm due March 17, 2013 with a girl. I'm very excited, but yet nervous at the same time. My boyfriend has an 8 year old little boy so we will have one of each.
I feel like I have to put some of my exercise goals on the back burner until after I have the baby. I'm trying to eat more healthy foods and stay as active as possible while pregnant but I don't feel like I can just hit the gym like everyone else hitting the gym right now.

Update - January 10, 2012: The year of 2011 was kind of a blur in the grand scheme of things. However, some pretty awesome things did happen.
1 - I ran/walked 2 (yes 2) half-marathons.
2 - I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in Business Management
3 - I was able to do a lot of traveling and went to San Francisco for the first time.

These are just some of the highlights from last year. It was a crazy, busy year but also had a lot of fun.

This year is the year I focus on me! I'll be turning 30 in February and even though the big 3-0 kinda scares me, I'm also excited to accomplish some goals I've set for myself.
I've signed up to run a half-marathon in June. And I'm going to enter the lottery in April for the Nike Women's Marathon for October. Ever since I started running I've had a desire to one day complete a full marathon and as long as I get into the NWM I will accomplish this goal!

January 12, 2011: As I start this new year, again I wonder why the road to my goal weight has to be such a roller coaster. This past year has been exactly that, a roller coaster. In the beginning I was very determined and had great intentions. I also found myself spending a lot of time on SP and for some reason my mindset wasn't where it should be. When I would look at success stories I would be amazed, but also sad. I thought it wasn't possible for me to actually succeed. However, my mindset has changed and I'm going to get to my goal weight. I will! I will! I will!
In September, some of my family members had signed up for the Red Rock Relay and at the last minute they needed some extra team members. The race was 184 miles with 12 runners. I had three different legs. The first leg was 4.5 miles, the second was 3.2 miles, and the third was 6.7 miles. I honestly thought I was going to die during the last leg. This leg happened during the middle of the day in Southern Utah, with about 103 degree heat and the last 4 miles were up-hill. But I'm happy to report that I survived and am looking forward to this year of more races. :)
I've signed up for the following races and I'm going to train for them so that I don't die in any of them. :)
January 29, 2011 - 10 K (6.2 miles)
March 19, 2011 - Half-Marathon (13.1 miles)
April 23, 2011 - 30 K (18.64 miles)
I plan on signing up for more races, but I'm going to focus on these for now.

January 2010: I joined SP two years ago and for the first several months I was very motivated and lost almost 30 lbs. However, once I started working a second job and my spiritual life seemed to hit rock bottom, I fell off the wagon. Then last March I decided to start training for a 5K and then I actually started to see results again. I had gained 20 of the original 30 I lost back and it was really tough getting that weight off. I have now lost those original 30 lbs. And I have another 30 to go before I am below 200 lbs. Even though I haven't seen the weight just drop off, I feel tons better because exercise and eating healthy is a normal part of my daily life now. This isn't to say that I don't have a bad day here and there, but I am overall more conscious about what I'm putting into my body.

Training for a 5K has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. When I started I thought I was dieing because it wasn't enjoyable at all. I have finally gotten to a point that I can zone out while running and the euphoric high that comes afterward is undescribable. It has taught me that I am stronger than I ever gave myself credit. By the end of last summer I was able to run a full 5K without stopping to walk, the Top of Utah 5K! Yay! I DID IT!!!! Now my next goal is to run/walk a half-marathon this year.
I WILL and CAN do it!!!!

The Aquarian child is some how an isolated only child when growing up and therefore gets lots of attention from adults. She becomes a "free thinker" and is very smart. She really isn't made to be a "stay-at-home-mom" as she has so much to give to the world. She makes a good teacher, scientist, or designer as she has new ideas.
