Let's Get It On

Hi there. I'm a 31 year old gal trying to lose what seems like an insurmountable 50 pounds. I've always been a bit heavy, but college and the first few years of culinary freedom of my first apartment ("I can eat an entire box of mac n cheese for dinner!!!") combined with little time or energy to exercise have taken their toll on my 5'7" frame.

I've tried diets before (weightwatchers, I'm looking at you), and have had some success, losing 15 pounds only to slowly gain it back ...

I've tried diets before (weightwatchers, I'm looking at you), and have had some success, losing 15 pounds only to slowly gain it back over the course of a few months.

I got engaged over last summer, and am getting married this October. So I am setting my birthday (in August) as my deadline to lose the weight.

I am not losing weight for anyone but myself... and my main goal is to get fit and look FAB for my wedding! I'm really optimistic this time around. I am going to do this.

ps I am not, not, NOT Condoleezza Rice. Nor could I ever ever EVER be a Republican, or mistaken for one. Unless my mouth is taped shut, and it's dark enough so that you can't see the horror in my eyes if someone accuses me of it.

Hi, Heeper! Thanks so much for posting the link to the grocery shopping template! I'm new here, and couldn't remember where on the site I had seen it. There is SO much information available, and I'm learning that these postings can be extremely helpful. Hope you're doing well. :)

Hey Heeper! I loved your reply to the picky veggie eater yesterday, so I stopped by to see who you were.

Love your liberal spirit - btw - did you know Condi has a very leftie activist cousin? Maybe you're related to her :) http://wapo.st/fjBvoZ

I"m new to Spark and looking for a friend who will help me stay motivated - someone along the lines of what you did w/"picky" - gently nudging her to new territory.

A bit about me- activist, feminist, leftie, doing the low carb thing to lose 75#. I live in upstate NY w/my dog - we just came back from a walk in the snow.

Wadya say? Friends?

I love the oranges on your page! How do you do that? It looks like we have the same goal, to get to 150. Best of luck to you. May the force be with us and beat this fat thing together!
