Today is the start of the run to a healthy life.

I started on SparkPeople March 8, 2008. However, my journey really started on August 31, 2007 which I reached my highest weight and I said enough is enough. I started out strong but then had a freak accident and broke my right knee. During the mending time I managed to keep my weight within a 5 pound "give or take" range. So I want to include my original weight loss so that I can personally keep up with my own goals. Before joining SparkPeople I had lost 16.8 pounds.
-----------------------------------
Update 8/22/2008
I'm two-thirds through my journey. Along the way I have met some amazing people. People who are fighting the same fight and understand completely. I've also encountered some people along the way that would rather throw a roadblock in the way then to see others succeed. It amazes me that someone who is fighting the same fight (or claims to be) would like to see others fail. That is only more fuel for the fire. I feel bad for those people but I do hope they succeed or can find happiness. For the friends I've made, these friendships are golden to me. They cannot tarnish nor will they ever go away. I thank my new friends for your support and kick in the behind when needed.

Today is also the day that I found out that my knee is much worse then I had thought. I'm doing my own soul searching and must come to terms with things I love to do such as running. Whatever happens, I will continue my journey and I will win this race.

Borrowed from Tracy368 Blog (okay complete cut and paste):
Tracy has posted the link for the video on her blog and while the song is completely about something different, the lyrics so fit the battle of the pounds. Tracy thanks for finding and posting. Now I'm going to swipe it so I can see it daily:

Accidents Can Happen - Sixx:AM

Don't give up, it takes a while
I have seen this look before
And it's alright
You're not alone
If you don't love this anymore
I hear that you've slipped again
I'm here 'cause i know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

Take some time and learn to breathe
And remember what it means
To feel alive
And to believe
Something more than what you see
I know there's a price for this
But some things in life you must resist

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

I hear that you've slipped again
I'm here 'cause i know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

You know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

So don't give up
It takes a while.

HI I FOUND THIS AND WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU. Noah's Ark Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark .
    ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs......
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

My instructions were to send this to the people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. Please pass this on to people you want to be blessed.
(Give it!! Don't just get it.)

Most people walk in and out of your life.......but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

Thought I would stop in a wish you a Merry Christmas. As you can tell, I haven't been on much. Still plugging along, not losing but not gaining it all back either. Hope Santa brings you what you are wishing for!
