It is time. It is past time. The time is NOW.... I am going to do this every day, every single day even if I fail during part of the day I will stop, drink some water and keep going. I am going to reach my goals of being healthy and fit. I will because I am worth the work, the determination, the challenges to make my life a better, happier and healthier one. I will incoperate food changes and exercises that I can readily do forever. I will do this by drastically cutting down or maybe eventually eliminating sugar other than from fresh foods. I also would like to eliminate wheat as it is known today nothing like what our grandparents ate.
I want to keep my physio exercises as a routine that becomes habit, and also get more strength training in.

A happy, healthy relationship with food and exercise is what I am aiming for.

A year from now you'll wish you had started today.

Feeling healthy and good about yourself is not an option, it is a necessity.

Part of the reason I wanted to do a 5K is to show you that YOU can do anything you set your mind to do. If a woman with herniated, degenerated disks, pinched nerves, bad knees, fibromyalgia, and arthritis can walk a 5K with a walker, YOU can take courage that you are capable of aiming for better every day. 2014 My word is BALANCE.... body,mind and spirit. I will take care and love myself in all aspects. I will work to make all 3 in balance and work towards a happier, healthier me.

This day is what you have to work with, no matter how much you could do yesterday, how much you may or may not be able to do tomorrow. That entails physical, emotional and of course our food!!

What can I do today that will make my tomorrow better? So knowing that I am trying to make each tomorrow better, today will incorporate moving, eating and thinking healthy with proper doses of both!

I want to lose this wt. to get healthier, to do all I can to not get cancer, to help my ruined knees and back last longer, to look and feel better about myself and to be able to pick up my grandkids and play with them.

I can't believe that a new spark friend told me she is going to start her day with my page! OMG wow. I can't believe it and goes to show you that you never know what may help someone else.
I am honoured and also said that I have had a specific friend really say something to me that has stuck. Had to go back and remind myself countless times but still it is in my head.....What can I do today to make my tomorrow a better day!!!?? thanks BEMORESTUBBORN!

My Goals:
-I will become healthy and fit.
-I also will do the best for my body that I can, mentally and physically.
-Incorporate healthier foods that are good for my body.
-I will walk daily.
-I will love myself !


Cardio- walk, ride my bike, T-tapp and wii.

Strength train - have weights and bench and bands and ball.

Stretch and become more flexible so my arthritis doesn't bother me as often.


So all in all - take better care of me, so I can be around to enjoy the events life brings.



My Program:
-To walk the dog.
-use our recumbant bike
- use my infrared sauna weekly to help get rid of toxins and to relax.
-strength train
-physio exercises

- Eat healthy appropriate portions, drink enough water daily and to think of this as a way of life .

Goals :
April 13th start 100 days of 10,000+ steps -

July 10th starts 100 days of NO S -

I am married and have 2 grown children son and daughter. Both my children are married and my son has 2 children, a boy and girl.

I live in Atlantic Canada

Other Information:
I enjoy reading and doing crafts. I like walking the beach with hubby and the dog. I also enjoy going to the trailer and relaxing.
We have long term dreams of building a small year round cabin on our land and downsizing to live there.

Reekie is breathing a little better but has no appetite from the antibiotics and is losing weight. He has to take them through Thursday. We have to syringe feed him 4 times a day now and he is resistant. Thanks for your support, GF!! I hope Allie is dong well. She is such a sweet pretty girl!

OMG -- your last line on my page totally cracked me up!!!! Big girl panties - LOL!!

You know - surgery isn't an easy thing to go through, and it sounds like you've had your share of experiences. As for scar tissue - I totally get it. I've had surgery in the same spot three times on my abdomen and I can feel the ridge. Ugh! And I will tell you this - and I'm not trying to scare you or make you decide not to have the surgery, but you need to do the p/t after surgery faithfully and work on that range of motion so that scar tissue doesn't form. My surgeon told me that he had one woman who thought she knew better than him and p/t and stopped her exercises. She lost her range of motion and ended up having to go back into the hospital - and under sedation - have the scar tissue broken. Well now let me tell you -- that kept me honest - lol!!! And I've only heard of one person on the team that had to have it done - everyone else is doing fine. It is always easier to tell someone to do something than to do it yourself. That's why I said you know your body - and you are the only one that can make the decision.

As far as me doing so much - it was because honestly - I was avoiding the surgery. My aha moment came at the zoo with my daughter and son. They were in grade school and we were at the zoo - just the three of us - and they ran ahead of me and I couldn't keep up. The thought of someone grabbing them and I wouldn't be able to try to save them, scared the bejeebers out of me!!! I knew right then and there that I had to do it.

Most of my lower back pain went away after the surgeries, because I was walking correctly.

Take it one day at a time - and try not to stress over it too much. On a positive, they are getting better and better with the surgery and the replacements themselves. I've read where they can do a replacement with minimally invasive surgery - where the incision is only 4".

Climb The Mountain


I tried to climb the mountain today. As I inched my way up the path, I felt out of breath and had to turn back.
I tried to climb the mountain today. But, It was so hot outside, I thought I had better stay in my nice air-conditioned house and rest up for tomorrow's attempt.
I tried to climb the mountain today. On my journey, darkness started to fall and I was full of fear, so I had to return to a safe place.
I was ready to climb the mountain today. But I had so may other things to do, so instead of climbing the mountain I took care of the much more important tasks; I washed my car, mowed the grass and watched the big game. Today the mountain will have to wait.
I was going to climb the mountain today. But as I stared at the mountain in all it's majestic beauty, I knew I had no chance of making it to the top, so I figured why even begin trying.
I had forgotten about climbing the mountain today, until an old friend came by and asked what I was up to lately. I told him about all my plans to climb that mountain someday. I went on and on about how I was going to accomplish the task.
He stopped me and said, "I just got back from climbing that mountain. for the longest time I told myself I was going to try to climb it but never made any progress."
"I almost let the dream of making it to the top die. I came up with every excuse of why I could not make it up the mountain, but never once did I give myself a reason why I could. One day as I stared at the mountain and pondered, I realized that if I didn't make an attempt at this dream all my dreams would eventually die."
" The next morning, I started my climb. It was not easy, and at times I wanted to quit. But no matter what I faced, I placed one foot in front of the other, keeping a steady pace.
