HEALTHY-SPARK

January 5, 2014. CARPE DIEM.
I am done with yo-yo dieting. I started Spark last year and saw some initial very encouraging progress, but let life get in the way, made excuses, and soon became inconsistent with my new healthy habits, and now I'm right back where I started. So enough is enough. My health and fitness are two of my top priorities. I am FOCUSED on staying within my daily calorie range and working exercise back into my life. (1) Stay within my calorie range 6 out of 7 days per week:
(2) Lose 10 pounds (177) by Apr 30.
(3) Get 30 min brisk walk 6 days a week.
(4) Get out of the 180's by Apr 1
(5) Eat at least 4 servings of fruits/veggies per day.
(6) Drink 64 oz water daily.

EXERCISE MORE

(Stay within calorie range of 1250-1350 and strive for reaching nutrient goals at least 5 days a week.)

LIVE HEALTHY
(Consume five servings of fruits and/or veggies each day.)

BE HAPPY
(Meet new friends by participating in social activities in my new city, at least once per week.)

I always do much better when I plan -- so my PROGRAM consists of writing out a WEEKLY PLAN on Sundays that includes EATING, EXERCISE and ACTIVITIES.

Recently transplanted to NM and I'm loving it! Previously I've lived in AZ, CA and MA.

I can now officially call myself an "award winning" photographer AND writer. I am looking to publish my first novel ...

Hobbies include:
Traveling, ballroom dancing, hiking, kayaking, photography, and learning to speak Spanish.

Thanks for the comments on my pictures. The little yellow stretched out on my chair is special. We found him out back last July so sick he probably wouldn't have lasted another couple days. His eyes were so infected and matted, one of them did not develop all the way around. The vet examined him and got him started on meds. We isolated him in a bathtub with food and little litter box. We have 4 indoor cats and DH said we couldn't keep him. Just could not put him back outside and was afraid he would be labeled unadoptabel at the shelter. A woman in CO read about him and sent a SPmail that they would take him. Long story short, he was picked up 29 Sept and went north to his forever home mleaving me in tears. He weighed 1 pound in July. By January, he was up to 8.9. I get regular pictures and stories about his antics. His name is Garfield, but she calls him Brat Boy, a real tooter.

I know what you mean about MIA. Our free internet moved away. Not only did we not realize what a gift they were giving us, we were totally befuddled about what to do to replace it. It took awhile. We're both slow and methodical - especially about something that is going to be a monthly expense.

I handled the SP break fairly well until Christmas break. I gained 6 pounds. GRRR. I was shooting for just 3. I'm glad we have internet again. It sure does beat going to the library to update the computer! We got one of those little hot spots. Pretty slick. It was fun being on the computer in the car when we traveled at Christmas. It's been pretty neat learning about all the electronic gadgets that are out there now. I think I might be getting a Smart Phone soon.

I'm glad you're back. I missed you.

Yes, of course this kind of thing never happens at home where no one can see. :P

Yesterday I gave my body the rest day that it clearly needed yesterday, and sat in the jacuzzi instead of working out.
