I want to be fit so I can go horseback riding

This is what I wrote starting out:

Hello, I'm a 43 year old woman who loves horses. I had a bad riding accident in september 2007. Ever since my weight has gone up and my selfesteem gone down. I miss being active. Its a bummer I cant help out at the barn as much. I hope and pray that loosing weight will help me get back in the saddle.

I recently found out that I am borderline Diabetic. I am a little nervous , but I know that I have to take my health very seriously from now on. My blood pressure is high and I have an enlarged liver. This sounded very scary at first, but honestly I think it is a blessing in disguise. I have learned a lot about nutrition and servings today.
It will change my life and I am ready.

I went back to my nutritionist today and she is very pleased with me. Can you believe it ? I have lost 7 1/2 pounds since I was there last time. I am so exited.
My nutritionist is awsome. I never knew so much about food and servings. Did you know that one serving of Carbohydrates has 15grams? Don't be fooled by food labels.

Praise God!!! I have lost another 8 pounds. I am trying out new recipes and hitting the treadmill for 30-45 minutes three to four times a week. Sundays, Wednesdays and Friday nights( RU Meetings) I am in church. I owe it all to God. He is the one who makes it all possible.

Another 8 1/2 pounds gone. I cant believe it!!! This is not dieting; This is awesome!!! I never thought it could be so easy.
Oh yeah, I still eat ice cream.....Skinny Cow that is.
Try it sometimes. It tastes great. I usually skip my starches like Noodles, Potatoes or Rice and have yummy icecream instead.

So, I went to a specialist about my enlarged liver. She said, she thimks my liver has shrunk because of my weightloss. Now I need a catscan so she can proof it. Just knowing this makes me feel sooooo much better.
Well, I got to run. The treadmill is calling me....LOL

Well, my weightloss is going great still, so I decided to buy me some dresses. I actually tried on a dress size smaller and I could zip it with no problem. It is a little snug .... but I bought it anyway.
I wonder how long I have to wait to fit it decently? I am so thrilled.

It is starting to get cold outside. So working out in the garage is out of the question. I go to the gym on base now.
As for my diet...I know I dont drink as much water as I should, because it is so cold. My nutritionist told me to warm it up or to have hot fresh lemonade or hot tea. I also noticed that I am more hungry for salty foods, so I bought some healthy chips and popcorn....yummy. (Curves popcorn and Sunchips are awesome)

Well, my treadmill is inside the house now, so no more excuses!!!
I have to say that I am back on track after hearing that I gained a half a pound. It was a real wakeup call for me. Winter is making me hungry for salty foods. But I will not give up. I will pray about this. The Lord always knows the answer.

Merry Christmas everybody!!! I've been baking cookies and I've given most of them away. I have eaten some but I dont feel aweful about it. What is Christmas without a few cookies??? Honestly, it will turn into a few extra pounds if you are not careful....
My doctor took me of my blood pressure and glucose meds. He said he is very impressed with my hard work. But for now it is just a test on how I can do without them. I am a bit scared...

First of all, Happy new Year to everyone!!! I promised myself I would work hard on my strength training this year, because I want to get Dressage lessons. I am doing great on my weightloss, but my strength training got put on hold for the last 2 weeks. I had my gallbladder removed and I am still in pain. I am not allowed to pick up anything. I am stuck at home for 2 1/2 weeks. I really miss going to church and my friends there.
But I look at it on the bright side, too. I cant go to work, but I am still getting paid....Thank you Lord!!!
Oh, I just got back from the nutritionist and she told me that I lost 4.1 pounds in 1 month. I dont know how I deserve it, but the blessings just keep on coming.....

Well, I had a setback this month. I got very sick April 3rd and ended in the hospital. I passed a pretty big Kidneystone and spent 3 days there. The pain meds made me gain 4.2 pounds. I guess stress really makes you gain weight....ugghhh.
But I am glad it's over and I can go on with my life. It is getting nice outside again, time to go walking in the sun.

Wow...It has been a year now. I still cant believe that I lost 57 pounds. I am back to exercising in the Gym and I go to the sauna about two to three times a week. I feel so much better when I do. I have gained a few pounds back from worrying about my husband. He has to retire soon and we have to figure out where to live. I know things will work out for us...
I am so exited, my husband really thinks I should start horseback riding again. Now I need to go to the doctor, get the ok and get this thing started...
I am due for my breast exam again. I should get this done, too.

It's been a while since I wrote anything, but for a good reason. I got my OK from the doctor so now I ride my friends horse Daisy. I ride her every Thursday and I got a good deal on it, too. I am learning so much in such a short time. I am loving it!!! This weekend my children came out there with me to watch Daisy getting trained by a pro.
My diet is on hold right now. I guess I have to stay 150 for awhile before I can loose some more, but I am not giving up because I have another 10 pounds to loose. I know I need to work on my stomach muscles a bit more...

Hello everyone. Happy new year and best wishes to everyone. I am doing great. I kept my weight of pretty good and I am still riding Daisy. December was very cold so I didnt get to ride that much ;-( I am still loving it very much. My husband is going to retire this month and we are going to move to Louisiana. I hope to find a good church and make many friends down there. Is there even Dressage down threre??? I pray it will. I dont like leaving my friends at work at church and the barn. So my heart is a little sad. Pray for me and my family, please.

My Goals:
I want to be healthy and be more active. I don't want to just concentrate on the scale, I want to be able to do fun things and be actice with my husband and children. Plus I want to be fit enough to go ride again.

My reward will be to get my dressage lessons.

My Program:
After trying everything, I decided to look deeper underneath the "eating problem ". My church is very active in a program called " Reformers Unanimous". It is for any addiction( from anger to drugs). Mine is overeating.

"I can do all things trough Jesus"

!. Eat only as much as my body needs.
2. Walk 30 minutes every day, exept sundays.
3. Go to all my doctors appointments.
4. Take my medicine.
5. Check my glucose.
6. Stay close to God.
7. Go to church on wednesdays and fridays as well as sundays.

Hey! How are you doing? Haven't heard from you in a while. I spent the last week at home, but most of January I was in the States visiting 2 brand new grandblessings. I now have 7!
Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you. Haven't had much time for Spark, but trying to catch up now. Little by little.

Hello, everybody!
I think I need to give some updates. I am riding every thursday for an hour on a my friends horse Daisy. She is so sweet and I really like her owner. When I do better financially, I'll start leasing her. My back does really well but my legs on the other hand have to get used to the new aids.
As of my diet, I am stuck at 150 pounds. Well, thats my fault, I like cookies...
I still eat mostly sugarfree foods and low salt snacks and meals. It has done wonders for my body.
I hope to get some pics up so you can see my before and after. I will keep you updated as much as I can. And Thank you to those who encouraged me to keep on going.
