I've been a member of Spark since Aug. of 07, although I didn't start using it until Jan. of 08. I lost 33 lbs. and maintained it for over a year. When I turned 50 I looked and felt the best I had in years. Life got busy and I slowly gained it all back plus some extra. I've been struggling to get back on track for over a year. I do well for a few days and then I fall off the wagon. I can't seem to find and keep my motivation. Over the years of losing and not learning how to maintain I've learned that I have to do exercise I enjoy, eat some of the foods I like, and not try to be perfect. I'm going to try again to get this weight off. I felt so much better and better about myself when I was thinner. I'm not going to make promises that I will reach certain goals by specific dates. That has worked for me in the past, but not lately. I don't want to break any more promises to myself so I'll take it slow.

It's kind of interesting around here. All our 37 years he has done more than his fair share around the house and taking care of the kids. He still does. When we babysit, I can sit back because he wants to do it all. He likes to be in control. But one problem I have is that I assume that he's totally fine with me sitting back and letting him do everything. I forget that he would appreciate me helping out so he doesn't have to come home from work every night faced with a trip to the store or figuring out what he will eat. We both are guilty of getting in our own little worlds. Fortunately I actually am feeling better that I have specific ideas from him of how I can make him feel loved and appreciated. I just feel bad that he doesn't take to heart the single thing that I wish he would work on. But maybe my changes are easy compared to the one I'm asking of him. My 22 year old son came up with the theory (after his psychologist's suggestion) that my hubby may suffer from a mild form of Asbhergers. It's an interesting thought and may explain his inability to deal on an emotional level with any of us in the family. Sure guys are often not emotionally oriented, but he is rigid in his thinking in many areas. If this is something he has, it gives me more understanding of his character and it's easier for me to live with. I guess I let it excuse him from expressing love, verbally or physically.
Thanks for reading and taking time to hear me vent. the comments are helpful.
Thank you Kim for stopping by my blog. They told me yesterday that I was going to be in for just 24/48 hrs for observation but they now took me out of observation and and moved up to a reg room and and did a complete admissions on me so I would have to say that means I am going to be stuck in here a little longer than they thought. Unless by some miracle my breathing improves if it doesn't then they are going to have a lung specialist come and see me tomorrow to see if they can come up with any other solutions to get me breathing easier. Have a great weekend. Missy
