Without Struggle There Is No Progress

I've been a member of Spark since Aug. of 07, although I didn't start using it until Jan. of 08. I lost 33 lbs. and maintained it for over a year. When I turned 50 I looked and felt the best I had in years.
Life got busy and I slowly gained it all back plus some extra. I've been struggling to get back on track for over a year. I do well for a few days and then I fall off the wagon. I can't seem to find and keep my motivation.

Over the years of losing and not learning how to maintain I've learned that I have to do exercise I enjoy, eat some of the foods I like, and not try to be perfect.
I'm going to try again to get this weight off. I felt so much better and better about myself when I was thinner. I'm not going to make promises that I will reach certain goals by specific dates. That has worked for me in the past, but not lately. I don't want to break any more promises to myself so I'll take it slow.

-pack my lunch/snacks for work
-Cardio 5-6 times per week
-stay between 1200-1500 calories
-strength train 3 times per week
-pay myself $1 each time I exercise & $1 for each day I stay within my calorie range

I'm from Iowa. I have 3 children & 2 step children. My son just graduated from high school. I married a wonderful man 3 yrs. ago. We have 3 dogs.
I teach elementary special education.

Thanks for the goodie. We were riding our go karts at an OHV park in Fort Dodge. I tried to steer around a tree stump, and the kart tipped and pinned my arm under it. 911 call, 3.5 hours in surgery, 2 plates and screws, 8-10 week healing time. :(

Yep, I'm right in between the calorie range that Sparkpeople recommends so I am clueless about the gain. I'll just keep plugging along and hope for a better weigh in next week. emoticon

110 sounds miserable too. My sister lives in Missouri and it was the same 110 heat index there. 96 was bad enough.
