The Middle

I am continuing on in my getting healthier journey and decided to join spark people.

2010 - Year from hell over, and moving on 12 lbs lighter.

2011 - Year that is better than 2010, moving on 29 lbs lighter. Finally got a job! Ready to continue my healthy habits with a job and focus on getting back in to graduate school and ultimately medical school.

2012 - First year working at my new job. I did not work out as much as I wanted to, but I finally understood ...

2012 - First year working at my new job. I did not work out as much as I wanted to, but I finally understood the importance of moving around and what an impact it has. I ended up losing 24 lbs.

2013 - My eating habits took a slide for the worse, ended up gaining 4 lbs, but I took control of my habits and started to incorporate exercise. I lost 15 lbs. Still plugging away at getting into med school, but feel so much healthier. I'm excited for what the future brings.

My Goals:
I'm hoping to ultimately lose 115 lbs - but I'm taking this slowly. I'm not really worried about the numbers, I'll be happy with whatever that number is as long as it is under 200 lbs.

My goal for 2012 is to try to match my weight loss from 2011 and make it to 220 lbs. I'm at the cusp of a class I obese - which is exciting, coming from a class III-er.

My Program:
Try to be mindful of everything I eat, listen to my stomach and my head, and when I am full, I stop.

Drink, drink, drink water.

Make better choices with diet when possible.

Cardio for at least 30 minutes 5-6 times a week.

Weight lifting at least 2 times a week.

Run 3 times a week.

Personal Information:
I am from Phoenix, AZ and just moved back up after finishing with hellish years of school. I just found a job as a research assistant with a drug research company, and am excited about starting to work. I committed to losing weight in Summer 2008 - starting out at 330 lbs. There have been hiccups along the way, but I am happy to say that this journey is right for me at a slow pace and I am always learning something new. I want to go to medical school. I am doing this for mostly selfish reasons - as I have no serious health problems to speak of. I want to go shopping everywhere and not worry about sizes as much, look awesome in just about everything, and be able to do some awesome fitness feats!

Thanks for the comment!! emoticon I haven't run the last few months. This winter has been brutal. Way too many icey and below zero days. I did pick up a Bootcamp class which is really challenging me!
